Upgraded 4.2 speed six T350 built for hill climbs keeping a Sagaris honest on track.

So maybe a upgraded T350?

Odd ball one, but try a Morgan aero 8, ticks almost all your boxes.

How about a 1M, or are they still a bit strong money wise?
I really like the 1M, not sure how it compares to the CSL. Numbers wise were they made in limited numbers for future appreciation?

A little bit. 'in your face' for my tastes if you know what I mean.

This sounds like a pretty bad idea to me. They all depreciate pretty quickly if you wrap them around the barrier...

Only 450 of them for UK (422 CSL's), more like 40k than 30k tho'.

Loads of people take £30k cars on track days.

Get an insurance policy that includes some track day cover (e.g. Mannings UK). There would still be a big (10%) excess though.

That's always the risk but one that I'm happy to take.

Are they still dropping in value though Dan or have they bottomed out? Sorry the U.K market is pretty new to me as I've not long since moved over from New Zealand.

I'd find the best Porsche 968 I could and spend the rest on enjoying it.

How about this

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/v...

A little under budget - but these and the standard turbos all seem to be appreciating now. There were only 65 official VXRs produced. For trackdays it will be great and they only look to be going one way in price.

Pretty static I'd say, they were circa 40k new and not sure they ever really dropped.

The CSL was £58k. They struggled to sell them and slashed prices at the end though.

They have started going up after being pretty much stale for a good year or so. I think it's influenced by the fact Porsches are so expensive now, so the CSL has been the second choice. Starting price is £30k at the moment.

Its an interesting line up but only you know how hardcore you want it to be and also whether the appreciating part or the ownership/enjoyment part is more important.
Personally I'd need three pedals so that would rule out a CSL.
Don't know how outrageous a 911 you'd get for £30k.
Lotus I know nothing about.

All day, every day and without a doubt - Noble.

TVR Tuscan S or 2S - If you have the balls to try and track it. Definitely going up in price.

Aston Martin Vantage - Probably not appreciating but seem to have hit the bottom of their curve and are great all round cars.
