Honestly, how sexy can a car look? Absolutely stunning piece of automotive art. I hope it will get a succesor. For sure one of the most desirable machines.

The car in the article is mine.

It is absolutely fantastic and a real wrench to sell it but I just bought a Carrera GT and I think I should try and be reasonable with my garage smile

There's a bit of uninformed tripe on this thread (what, on PH, surely not...) but also some good informed posts too.

It likes a drink but 80-90 miles on a tank, no. It sounds amazing. And it is bloody fast. I love the way it looks. And everywhere you go, people react so well. Doesn't divide attention like a Ferrari. It's a Ford.

Will be sorry to see it go to be honest.
Fantastic news, as replacements go that's a pretty fine one! Glad to hear you enjoyed it, thanks for your input.

I was a huge fan of those Matech GTs, shame there was no time to reach their full potential.
When Marc VDS ran the cars, the engine was so restricted that they never came close to win a title, but on tight and twisty circuits GTs absolutely destroyed the competition.

Good old times...
Matech Ford GTs in Monza
I loved every minute of my time in the team, and got to live several of my dreams, including driving one of the GT1 cars, when I did the deal to move them to the USA. Going to Vegas to shoot the Rally was fantastic...a really great bunch of people who just love their cars. The book I made has the pictures at 13 x 11inches.

It's a pretty big car:

Compared to the original Ford GT40:

Shrieking 7K revving 289 on Webers: nothng like it.

Low and wide. Roomy inside. And with the shifter in the door sill.

The Targa Florio Roadster:

Roger Wills' fine racer.

Cracking stuff.

Lovely cars but I would have never have guessed that they sell for £190k. £80k-£90k would have been my estimation.

Only 'modern' supercar I'd own........

However, for less money I'd rather have a pro-built Superperformance Mk11 as you can have the pukka big-block 427 side oiler fitted biggrin

The sound that comes out of them is immense. I took this on my phone earlier in the summer.

In my opinion (and we all know what they say about opinions) that looks bloody hideous, so contrived. The original and the GR are much more resolved. I guess the vents are needed, but they'd ruin the looks of the car.

Wow... stunning set of images and perfect cars - that looks like Heaven to me. Throw in some Vegas strippers and it's even better...
