I managed to pick it up last night, after much confusion from FedEx (they suck).

So far: Unit was very well packaged, and arrived with everything as described. The head unit looks to be of better than average quality, chunky buttons and nice feeling rotary encoders. Looks good.

The remote is astonishingly poor quality, but I'll never use it. Tomorrow I'll be hooking it up I think.

Fully configured and working beautifully, installation almost complete. Taken longer than I thought as the last person to install a head unit in my car made a real pig's ear of it.

I'll write up a full review soon, but the gist of it is: works perfectly as advertised, easy to install - software configuration and required updates are for techies only, sadly. Best resource I've found is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2...

Absolutely worth or if you're prepared to spend some time setting it up. I'm delighted so far.

Nice one mate. I used to have a Chinese unit in my old e46(andrive). It was brilliant! I'm looking for one now for my golf mk4 but haven't found one I fancy yet. I'm sick of listening to the same old cd's in the car!! Do they make this one for the mk4 golf I wonder? Off to ebay to check....

Didn't sound great at first, but after the update improved dramatically. Way better than standard unit.

Any additional cables or connectors required or was it plug & play?

Looks like it would fit the bill for the OH's old Honda CRV

What are you doing about the trim around the outside of the unit?

I've not yet fitted the surround our had mounted the chassis yet, hence me saying installation is almost complete 😇

That looks great! Especially for £175. And I was one of those who doubted it'd be much good!

Just completed a 350 mile drive with the unit, listening to music and using the satnav the whole way. Flawless. Once I get the fascia on, I'll post final thoughts and some pics

Looks good. Hoping to replace the standard PCM in my 997 as the screen has stopped working. Look forward to seeing the pictures with the surround on.

Now that isn't bad at all for £175! Wish it had DAB though.

Looks almost OEM, impressed with that.

I assume you can have google maps on it, is it compatible with voice commands?
