My car works well with black wheels I think!

Black wheels don't always photograph well though, they look a bit lost in some photos as the camera fails to give enough contrast or depth so you can see the detail of the wheel.

I do think getting a decent shot of them is a lot of the issue when viewing internet pics.
That looks awesome. I don't think it would look so good on silver rims because you'd lost the contrast with the paint finish. I agree with you about the photo thing too. Bottom line is, when it comes to aesthetics, it's all subjective anyway.

ETA - Any more pics / details on your car?

Yes pleasesmile

I like that paint job (also agree black rims work better with it), does it have a clear coat or is it matte finish and if it is fully matte how much (if any) extra maintenance/upkeep to keep it clean and pretty does it take?

Ive been toying with the idea of having mine done in a standard silver colour but i change my mind daily.

This was actually one of the cars I was looking at which put me off the Black wheels. A lot of FRS owners seem to do it but IMO it looks much worse.

+1.

That Saab above would look better with lighter wheels too imo.

I think I pulled it off quite well on my old ST500.... albeit they're not factory. In which case I would agree that the standard silver Y spokes look better.

I'm bias but these are lovely, better than pepperpots

I like those - similar to the Goodwood and limited edition ones

No all cars do not look worse with black wheels

Silver wheels are boring and for me subtract from the overall look of a car, 2 things I would not have on any car I own would be silver wheels and chrome anywhere on the outside of the car, I hate it, especially those st looking chrome strips car makers insist on putting around windows, just fk off it looks like a halfords stick on strip!

Genuinely interested to know if you guys preferred my car on silver or matte black alloys?

Sprayed them myself and only cost £40 all in

All these pictures show to me it's hard to take a decent photo of black wheels. They don't highlight the design detailing the same as silver does.

They look ok... ish .... but you missed a bit or have kerbed them already as there is a nice silver line around the front rim frown

Silver = elegant and fresh looking.
Black = looks rather second hand (as if past damage is being camouflaged)

Nice to see you were able to use up the last of the spray on the bonnet scoop and rear spoiler. It certainly adds to the overall effect
