Enquired on the Focus RS forum and its 5 seats apparently.

For the record, a source I have on the inside tells me the car has not even been signed off yet so there is no power figure yet and certainly won't be during Geneva. No idea what the Irish site is on about.

It's been signed off, they just haven't decided what state of tune the car will leave the factory in. It's a minimum of 320bhp but depending on the final emissions/economy figures could be hopefully as high as 350bhp. Not sure whereabouts on the inside your source is.

The car shown at Geneva might not be the one you can buy...

This post and picture from Ford on Instagram last night said:

"Focus RS European Preproduction model shown"

That may imply a couple of things:

1. Will the European and rest of the world cars differ that significantly that they'll be different versions?
2. Is it just giving themselves "wiggle room" to be able to change things between now and sale?
3. As noted above, it points to the fact that it may not have been completely signed off yet as far as style and performance goes.

The ST mk2 had three models, the ST1,2 and 3, just the ST1 had 5 seats due to the seat config.

345 bhp, impressive, kocking on the door of the Merc A45 but a hell of a lot cheaper and looks like it will be more fun, drift mode !

Plus, a fast Ford is so much cooler than a hotted up Merc.
the ST1 and 2 had 5 seats, the ST-3 had 4.

Yarp. For some reason if you wanted 'leather' you had to do without the 5th seat

New press release from Ford US this morning showing a different blue on the RS. It looks too flat and non metallic so could this be another non-available colour like liquid blue and not actually Nitrous Blue at all?

https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en...

Or could it be a US specific colour as the rear fog has gone as per US regulations?

Looks not unlike Audi's Nogaro blue. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5e...

(Linked rather than embedded because its not a Focus RS)

My dad's Mk.4 Escort estate 3-door was that colour. Amazing what marketing can do isn't it! Can't I just have mine in plain gloss Ford black please? Ta.

I like that blue, bit like the old Clio 182 colour.

It could be nitrous blue, it's very similar to the shade of NOS bottles.

I thought that too. Suits the car better than whatever the blue was (imperial?) in the original press shots.

Liquid Blue. wink

Nitrous Blue is almost a Mica finish but with metallic / pearlescent sparkle:

I'd say that's the same colour. Poor studio lighting on the originals not showing the metallic off.

I do like that though.

As the owner of a green one, I like that. A bit more tasteful and understated. laugh

I thought the original selection of colours - including my initial impression of the blue at launch - was a weak point of the new RS.
