Jesus, what an absolute turd of a car. IF it is going to be 4WD, and we can safely assume it's going to be up around 300bhp, why the juddering fk would you just stick a roof spoiler on a common-or-garden Focus & release it as is?!

WOW!! I cannot wait till these hit the showrooms! So excited!! Just hope that in my excitement I can find it amongst all the other boring, bland, econobox shapes.

Hold your horses there fella, it looks nice and subtle, not too aggressive, just like the Golf R.Jesus, what an absolute turd of a car. Ford have been told before to make them look less 'just drove through Halfords'!
Lets wait until the road tests are in before we start cussing it!
My predication is that this will be the new hot hatch king and will run rings round a Golf R for handling and driver interaction.
I'd love one of these!

Exactly. There's subtle, and there's looking like every other hot hatch out there.craste said:

By....? I'm under the impression the outgoing Focus RS is still commanding high prices meaning there is a definite market for the "just driven through Halfords" look. Fair enough tone it down, but not so it looks like a run-of-the-mill shopping car which, to my eyes, makes it look even MORE like it's just been driven through Halfords since all they've done is stuck a roof spoiler on it, changed the wheels and made the grill a bit bigger.craste said:

It may well manage that, but if it can't do it whilst turning heads then it's not doing it's job properly. My predication is that this will be the new hot hatch king and will run rings round a Golf R for handling and driver interaction.

As I said, the performance may well be phenomenal, but it's always going to look a run-of-the-mill shopping car if that's what it actually looks like^.
I really like the look of that.
I'd still fear buying one though as my ST got broken into so many times. If it's AWD then I'm going to be trying to juggle finances to order one....
Engine sound pumped through the speakers would be a deal breaker though....

If those images are in fact what it looks like then I'm not keen on the looks.
I hate the wheels, the rear diffuser looks cheap too, and I don't think the RS should come in 5 doors.
It also doesn't looks special enough in my opinion, while some people like the understated Audi S3 type look. I'd rather an aggressive looking car.
And while some would say the mk2 RS looks tacky, to my eyes that RS in the pictures looks more tacky with the wheels, spoiler and diffuser. That actually looks like someone bought a standard Focus and went to R-TEC in st Albans to get some cheap wolfrace wheels and a few bolt on parts.
I'd prefer an ST estate than that RS
