As stated, bork/ temptation levels on par with an old AMG.

Keep looking at the ~£5K 2.5 diesel Touaregs, mainly for the missus who is currently pushing for a Tiguan.

These are properly barmy though, and available quite often. Isn't there some scary service job that requires the engine out? Still, dat torque...

Surprised that any W124s are available anymore with the near-mythic status they have achieved on here now! I like really old, over-engineered saloons, but goddamn!!!

The W124s cost less than a trip to Poland (and I also come from Edinburgh) - far easier just to buy one.

I love the straight 6 in my 300. I was driving down some country lanes earlier and giving it some beans and it sounds great. To me it is a key part of the character of the car. They need revs to get the best out of them (which is fine by me!).

I can see the appeal of a 4 in a workhorse if the right car comes along - the extra economy would be helpful.
The question is would your cat be BETTER with a 4 cylinder engine?

Don't think so.
Ross, please leave my cat alone laugh

I hope you are doing well!

Your cat certainly would be a fast runner!

I think a car needs a six if it is to purr along nicely.

Slightly different to most as I'm based in Dubai, but the daily recently died, I need to be able to seat 5, and petrol is as cheap as not to worry.....

78000km. Jap import (so will eventually have to replace the comand system) but in great condition overall.
Paid 4k stirling including new tyres all round.
Currently having new pads fitted, otherwise all good

inb4 "Luton".

That phallus would have to disappear from the rear bumper, otherwise it looks pretty nice.

Looks like a practical joke. Phoned the number, the bloke was in absolute despair. An entire morning of telephone calls - and he doesn't have a car for sale.

A shame, as I'd have bought that this afternoon. Not surprising though, seeing as it's half price.

Found this after googling the description. PH really shouldn't watermark the images, it just cocks up reverse-image searching and leaves people open to scams.

A friend was the victim of a practical joke involving kittens for sale on Gumtree, which was surprisingly amusing. A cheap R-class just seems a bit st.

Was trying to persuade a colleague at work last week that one of these was a far better bet than a Disco3 for London-based carriage of relatives - he's not convinced by the looks (who would be?!) but the potential lack of bork compared to the usual suspects from the 4x4 world at under £10k do make them appealing if you can ignore the looks.

Found a 350 petrol for under £9k with 7 speed auto that looked to fit the bill smile

A guy around the corner from me drives the R500. With a permanent smirk. Permanently. I think it's a good car. The MILF's at the school think he's lovely because he's got an MPV, the Dad's at school think he's awesome because cylinders/horses.

Nice to see one in SE spec and well specced - back seat looks to have seen some serious child seat action, judging by the rear bench condition. WBAC would offer under £3600 so for £4500-5k if it's all straight and the belts aren't due (pretty sure they're still belts on the A6 at this age?) would be worth a punt
