I'm definitely in a practical 4WD mood at the moment.
What do we think of this........looks good for the money and what it is

Expensive. My car is newer with less miles with full history for a good bit less. Perhaps I got lucky, time will tell.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-BMW-528i-SPORT-SILV...

Could do to be in the 2.5K range.with some wriggle room IMO.
I've just sold a mint 2.5 diesel touring manual with just over 100K miles, 4 newish branded tyres, fbmwsh etc etc for 1850 quid. E39s are criminally undervalued IMO.

They have a comically small boot for an estate due to the 4x4 gubbins taking up a lot of usable space, but aside from equally comical fuel economy they are great fun Friend had one years ago and could tip it into single figures with relative ease if beating it to death!
If you take a look at my current garage then you'll see economy won't be a chief issue.Do the GS 4.3s have the issues mentioned with the 300 below? I rather like the idea of a smaller Lexus with a V8 and lots of kit for around £1,500. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...
Are they any good generally?

Supposedly quite bork prone and not as nice as an LS, so not really worth bothering with, Wouldn't mind a twin turbo Aristo though. Are they any good generally?

Not exactly the kind of place you'd want to buy a car like this from, but it looks to have had quite a bit of money spent on it, an LPG would go some way to offsetting the running costs.

Outside Forum budget but I didn't realise there was such a thing as a W210 E60.

Not within budget by any stretch but every now and then someone takes the piss to such a spectacular extent that they are worthy of inclusion:

The close-up at 1.00 really sold it for me!
Perhaps he'd like someone to turn up to meet him in the dimly lit underground car-park with an attaché case stuffed to the brim with £37K as well?

How about a handsome, low-mileage, modern execu-coupe for 3 bags?
