My dad had a safrane as a courtesy car. I remember really liking it, but then I was like 8 at the time

MNNN a bottle of wine and a read through this paperwork the weekend after you have purchased it (I don't like the car that much though!).

If we ever have a thread anthem, these words need to be woven in to it.

Nicely put, even if this sort of sentiment seems usually to be followed by a thread in the Lounge titled 'help a middle-aged man with housing and love options...'

That Safrane is wonderful. These have loads of tech on, think they had a computer that spoke to you too. That one is manuel too, parfait.

I did look very C6s very carefully before I bought my CLS. Full fat tax (£500) on all 2.7D models and uninspiring economy put me off. Mechanicals seem ok though - plenty of good info on c6owners.org.

And multiple 'classic' Mercedes Benzes as if this is appealing somehow...!

Seems like £1000 more than I would want to pay, but maybe I'm way off the mark. Also, call me cynical but it is 15 years old, 5 previous owners and only 86k miles... really? I would be highly suspicious if the 'service history' consists of only a stamped book and no invoices to back it up.

edit: those wheels look nice but I reckon the ride on 19" and sport suspension would be pretty firm too?

The 124 passed a milestone tonight as I journey to Walsall. I phoned my wife to tell her. She told me to go in the back of the glovebox wherein I found a small present: a pair of 300,000mile cufflinks. We are a very sad family.

Must get on: another 60 miles to go before bedtime.

Not cheap at 4k, but they do sound nice.
Love that !

Used to have an RS2 back in 2006, and trim parts we're becoming somewhat rare and NLA

guessing this wouldn't be much different?

Jimetta's E-Class is going to be making way for one of these very shortly.

Yep. I think "democracy" has really had its day and been shown, for all its good intentions, to be a fundamentally failed concept. Far better the "Benevolent Dictator" model.

My weakness as a Dictator was amply illustrated this past weekend. I spotted a car which I should have just bought immediately. However, I dallied overnight pending a "consensus vote" the following morning...only to lose out by a matter of minutes as the car was sold from under my nose! frown
Perhaps some form of representative democracy where you decide who is in charge of the cars side of things once every 5 years?

What was the car?
Z4. And to make matters worse...in your home town!

Her dominion over colours, fabrics and destinations goes challenged by me only insofar as to engender her jealous protectiveness of that area of her control.

Said jealousy elevates said dominion's perceived value, thus relegating in relative terms the area of vehicular mastery I quietly assume as my own.

Puppet Master.

(what?)
Hmmm..."Softly Softly", stealth approach? Nice! I like.

In a similar manne,r my "loss" at the weekend on the car that I should have quickly snapped-up but that was evidently quickly snapped-up by someone else gave validity to my powers of judgment in Mrs D's eyes. Therefore, despite "losing" that car, it wasn't a total loss in terms of my freedom of future operations!

"There's Always a Silver Lining" is my motto for 2015.

No pics of the cufflinks? I must say that is quite sad, and quite cool at the same time hehe

I haven't driven since 30th November :got a letter from DVLA yesterday saying they'd written to my consultant but not had a response so couldn't make a decision as to whether I'm OK to drive or not.

The E65 is still being used once a week or so and is on a mere 121k.

It's MOT is up March 18th so I'll probably get it done some time end of Feb. Can't imagine it failing on anything (famous last words)

That's all very sweet, but which of you was swotty enough to zero the trip at 299,876?

Higher levels of attainment going on there.
