The W124 @ £1250 posted in the previous thread seems worth a look :

Got a lot going for it IMO - original mats, flaps, plates, dealer sticker and Blaupunkt. Problem - it's in Glasgow

It is super (and very relieving) to see you posting again, Ross. The barge thread has really missed you!

I think I may have a barge itch to scratch in approximately 14 months, so checking in early in the name of "research".

Whenever I'm looking for a car there is never anything in Glasgow!

Hope you're doing well, apologies for not posting much but the only thread I've been updating lately is my tumour one.

Many thanks again, it really was quite special! Got given some cards addressed to me but at my best mates address and I was a bit like, Errr what!?

biggrin
Ok you're excused laugh

Regarding the C32 - I was driving an SLK320 earlier and it didn't feel like it needed or would best deal with more power (though maybe my expectations are low with the 300e!) - is the C class chassis any better?

I like the price, power and the fact they look like a diesel.

Having read the previous articles on these, what value for money! Okay, it'd be sexier as a saloon but there is no arguing with the pace...

You're only saying that because you know 0a is in town but, in the real world, everyone knows that estates are the lookers of the family.

Salons are how these cars were designed, estates (and cabriolets smile ) are an afterthought, fashion, lifesyle and so on...

Did BMW ever make this as an estate? smile

I feel a need to stand up for the unloved 4 doors!

Estates are family men with dogs and kids, and school run mums. The objective company director on the Clapham omnibus was never driven in an estate car...

...until he died and the Co-op came to collect him...

Total coincidence above, I just googled "E28 estate" and that photoshopped image came up. But there are some real ones:

In mitigation, when I said that estates were the lookers of the family, I made the comment before seeing this picture.

In this case, and probably this one only, the 4-door wins.

I don't know whose address mine went to, but hopefully it's with you by now!
I hope there's one of mine in there somewhere, but if there isn't, get back to barging soon!
