I wanted a V70 ideally but as you say some of them fetch a lot of money.
Sounds like a top guy. It´s always reassuring to hear stories about transactions that go through smoothly, such a shame that tossers and tyre kickers seem to be in the majority in the used car market! Or maybe Volvos attract a better quality of vendor/purchaser?

Anyway, enjoy the car, updates are always good!

I agree there should be more 5 cylinder engines out there - the one in my Alfa (2.4 10v diseisel) is a gem. A Mk.2 Focus ST is now high on my list of cars to try.
The Focus with the 5 cylinder turbocharged engine is bloody great. Likes a drink mind but I'd take one over any of it's competitors. Hell even the SMAX with the same engine isn't a half bad steer. smile

Have we had this one?

Looks pretty good, with little rust.

The Willis Way Motor Repairs number plate begs the question what repairs were done, but probably easy to find out and, at 1500 quid, you can't complain too much. It might even have been for rust rectification.

You're not wrong,I nearly hit my driveway gate when I got home,I thought something was jammed until I did a little research. It's like turning a ship after the W124 with its taxi turning circle!
Yep - i've got a 5metre + LS430 that could get into tighter spaces than the Volvo.
Think the turning circle is 13m or so in the S60? Blame it on the transverse engine i guess.
You certainly will have favourite multi-storey car parks - i.e. the ones you can get into!

I believe it isn't the 5-cylinder engine that causes the issue, rather some shared modules with the S80, which is engineered to accommodate a transverse I6. The wheel articulation is thus unnecessarily restricted in the case of the S60.

Wow, sounds like it was a great transaction. My hunt continues as I have next week off work. smile

How could a car like that possibly be bad. And look at the environs. Leigh on Sea. That's like everywhere else used to be before it became hideous. Can you remember when people yearned for a semi- like that, when the successful bought them and parked a Double Six like that out front. Nowadays it's electric gates, grey metal window frames, illuminated walls and a white Audi A7 on the block paved drive. It's hateful.

I don't see the issue with buying a car on finance, it just means you can afford to pay for it monthly instead of an outright purchase.

Lovely, but I always thing a grey is a missed opportunity on these. They carry all sorts of crazy colours so well.

I want gold, yellow, lime green, baby blue, burnt orange etc

Back in the day my father had a 4.2 in a vibrant yellow, he was stopped frequently by the police for speeding, he claimed at the time the colour attracted their attention frown

The seven looks elegant in silver on radial spokes. What's up with the bonnet alignment? I know the E65/66 have some big fans here but the E38 really is the zenith of 7 series design, isn't it? Bangle must've been on drugs. Or maybe he had a thing for big girls.

Edit: it's the ambers and the black trim that make it look so good. When the sills are colour coded, the body work looks too deep relative to the window graphics.
