Yes, but petrol is nearly free at the moment, so who cares?!! biggrin
I know, it's great, isn't it? I've been completely revising our car requirements for the next five years in light of the sudden plummet in fuel prices. And using the 129 with wild abandon.

Blimey a lot of car for £600 in the end! 6 cylinders and MB Tex (I think?)
I like that - one wing looks bubbly, rest looks great from the pics. Bargain.

Rare.

Hardly looks like a concours example, and the photos don't do it many favours, but there could be potential.

I miss my old, pre facelift 540i/6t. Manual takes away some the waftiness, but adds a bit of involvement if you like stirring your own cogs. (I do.) Such a fantastic all rounder for so little money.

Don't get me wrong, I love stirring cogs. I certainly love stirring the cogs of my E61. I drove a manual E39 540i though and it was more like stirring porridge. I'd also say the steering was pretty vague and porridge-like after getting straight out of my E39 530i to test drive it.

I'm not a fan, I have to say. Although on paper I should be.

The pictures in that add are awful. Almost looks like it's went off the road in the second pic. Zero preparation has went into the advert yet he's still looking for 3.5k. Combine that with rust on the arches and wing and I'd say 2k was closer to the mark.

This is a bit out of thread budget (due to the vendor's optimism, I dare say) but strikes me as rather nice. It appears to have every option except seat heaters.

We have had a bit of a disaster with my wife's Golf 5. A rat has eaten half of it. For the second time. Anyway, she uttered the words I've been longing to hear, "How about a 190 diesel". I can't help but think a 124 is a better car.

On what planet is that a £6,700 car?

True love... I only believe such a Mrs exists because I've met her, have you been hypnotising her or something?

That has to be a typo. I'm guessing at £700.

Me too. 6 grand is comically insane.

£2,500 to £3,000 is about right for a private sale if it is as good as it's cracked up to be. Mileage is very low. It's the wrong colour and, anyway, I think the 2.0E is probably the better car.

I'm reliably informed it's a dog.

Gives me some comfort when it comes to selling mine in the new year, albeit mine is auto rather than manual (and without rust...)

It's coming today?! Envy, envy. Full report with pictures required. It looks like an absurd amount of car for the money.

The adult/petrolhead equivalent to a kid being excited at Christmas! Brilliant!
