Thanks r129 - just a pioneer head unit, nothing special. General audio is a later project!
This sounds rather interesting: www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C569882# £1,999
"A phenomenal, 1 lady owner from new, with Full Supplying Main Dealer Service History by Mercedes Benz!!!
Sadly her husband passed shortly after purchase so absolutely EVERYTHING was done by the supplying dealer, even wiper blade replacement, bless her!!"
Makes me feel like owning another 190. Ultra-low spec and colour combo appeal too! This sounds rather interesting: www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C569882# £1,999

After nearly 10 years living in Germany, I could live with Taxi-spec, but absolutely not Taxi-colour. [Although it's miles better than white.]

What a fantastic Christmas present it would make!
O/T, Not sure if you've seen it, but you get name-checked by Ross in his rather nice 'thanks to PH for being nice to me' thread. Good work chum. ETA Link:

I fancy a big V8 barge... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-LS-400-4-0-auto-cr...
Do these only have 260 bhp though?
It could just be the lighting, or my eyes - But it looks to have a big dent in the front wing?Do these only have 260 bhp though?
I like that facelift SWB 750 Len, looks reasonably priced to me for what is a rare late car.
This early LWB seems to have made very strong money;

Can't see the mileage but not sure why it has made quite so much.

Ok...completely out of budget, off topic and more suited to the "What car have you been obsessing about today" thread but...
Can someone tell me why these appear to be so cheap? Granted, £11500 is still a lot of money but I remember back in the '80s a friend and I used to virtually press our noses up to the window of Jack Barclay's in Berkeley Square in the West End and look at things like this that were for sale for sums of money that just seemed unimaginable to us back then. I suppose much as current day new or nearly new Rolls Royces are today...maybe even more so because they'd be in the window for six-figure sums even back then when we were living on student grants of £3000/year.

I'm not sure exactly what I'd do with it other than just polish and stare at it but what a thing to have, huh?
(p.s It would be utter lunacy....wouldn't it? )
Nigella probably did coke off the rear walnut tables. Can someone tell me why these appear to be so cheap? That's nice to see, you guys sent the cards though (those that I contacted, sorry for missing people out)! In other good news the W124 PASSED its MOT today, only one advisory (I get the feeling they always have to find one!) being a slightly leaking exhaust middle section.
I rather like this 500, and it's up for under half of thread maximum with nice colours http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C570137

I've found some good stuff cleaning out the interior of cars that I have bought over the years. A lost little bag of something could well go towards costs.
Better than the bag of brand new brass padlocks that I found under the seat of my 8-Series when I bought it.

I haven't figured how they're sourcing their cars but I happened to be looking at that very dealer's stock just yesterday whilst browsing Bentleys/ Rollers and so many of their cars seem to have belonged to elderly, retired people. Check it out for yourself by reading the descriptions. "Retired", "Elderly", "Ill-health", "Breavement" seem to be very common words in the descriptions?
Seems a bit odd?

How do you know it's been for sale for a while? Seen it before or is there a ninja trick?I haven't figured how they're sourcing their cars but I happened to be looking at that very dealer's stock just yesterday whilst browsing Bentleys/ Rollers and so many of their cars seem to have belonged to elderly, retired people. Perhaps the car business is a sideline of the dastardly doctor/pharmacist attached to a care home?
(I know, not funny post-Shipman, sorry.)

Probate auctions I expect or links with local solicitors who sell the cars to them when dealing with the deceased's estate. Relatives don't normally want the hassle of inheriting an old car or trying to sell it themselves. I am also hankering after the other smoke silver CL600 but that really isn't an option.
I know you travel around a fair bit Jonathan, so if you ever find yourself in Norwich and you want to try mine, just drop me an email. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MERCEDES-BENZ-S-600-COUP...
With, err, a smoky engine. Now that's scary.

I know that 420 SEC has been for sale for ages because I remember looking at the ad with the same pictures ages ago.
