Massively O/T but what was the delivery on your Capra Pro like waiting time wise? I want a Tues but heard a horror story last week of someone waiting a year for their Capra!
I ordered my Pro in July last year, arrived November. It is THE best bike I have EVER thrown a leg over bar none.Krikkit said:
Very nice 9-3 and X308 XJR.
On the 9-3 what are the seats/suspension like? I'm going to look at a (sadly diesel) 9-3 Wagon tomorrow and have never used one.
Seats are very comfortable, took a bit of fiddling to get them how I want them. Unfortunately one of the things mine doesn't come with was heated seats. Suspension is fairly firm, but not as crashy as it could on 240/40/18 rubber. I think the weighty boat anchor up front helps make it feel a bit more wafty than a lighter, fewer cylindered donkeyOn the 9-3 what are the seats/suspension like? After many moons of lurking on this thread I finally dipped my toes into smoker barge territory with a 1999 XJR.
Inspired by Ecurie Ecosse's Readers Cars thread of 2012.

Good luck with your purchase! I bought one of these a few months ago and am now in the process of going through the car to get it really good (it was very nice to start with, but they all suffer some similar problems to varying degrees).Inspired by Ecurie Ecosse's Readers Cars thread of 2012.

Nice . It's strong but if you'll keep it a while and keep it correct it's very much worth it.
Just wish they'd behave regarding the 10k mile 740i price as its a little silly at the moment
That 740i is an odd one - a '99 shouldn't have colour coded sills or clear indicators, and a Sport should have M Parallels, Sports seats (Those are heated Contours, which are an improvement imo) and a black alcantara headlining. I guess its possible those were all changed by plundering the Individual options list, but it seems unlikely?Just wish they'd behave regarding the 10k mile 740i price as its a little silly at the moment
That said it looks very nice! The rubbers around the shadow-line hofmeister kink appear intact -which would be a first for an E38 in 2015!
Were it a 2001 in that shape it might, might, be a £10,000 car but £15,000 is just a bit too strong IMO

No. That's, believe it or not, an optional extra!
- so in theory you could just make your car Individual spec by ordering the kickplates and nothing else, I guess. Nice idea to replace the M kickplates on my F11, actually.Edited by 4941cc on Friday 17th April 15:41
A very cheap 300-24 SL that looks like an honest usable project.

And then some Jaguar loveliness.
Lots to like here, but the leaper would have to go. Probably achievable in thread budget. Red. V12.

Hard to tell from the ad, but could be very genuine and looks like long ownership. Silver. V12.

Now that is cool.http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C604380
Or...could you spend the £1000 you'd spent on this for rust repairs and but one for £3500 rust free??
(O/T, how much to respray and fit my spare front wing on the S124 do we think? £150-200??)

I love these, they seem like so much car for the money..... but I can just imagine that V12 could be ruinous to run - thirst and general maintenance.... doesn't exactly look like a DIY friendly engine. Can't help but feel the 6 cylinder cars would be a more sensible purchase.

The problem is finding something for £3500. You could just use this as-is, fettle it as you go, and then do coachwork only when when the rust got too embarrassing. Or...could you spend the £1000 you'd spent on this for rust repairs and but one for £3500 rust free??

As for a 124 wing, there are others here that have done it, but I suspect it'll be more than £200. The rust comes from inside out so you may need some internal remediation, then fit and spray. I reckon it would be closer to £300-600, but that is a complete guess.

A nice looking, low mileage example of Audi rarity
2005 (later shape) A6 3.2 fsi SE Tiptronic Quattro , with low miles, low owners and decent history, nice spec, and excellent colour combo,
Slightly over budget

I think the last AJ6 engines are seen as the most sensible option, and I suspect the car in general got more usable and more maintainable from the 90s. But still, V12...
V12 but what... 12 mpg and probably not all that much extra performance. Most probably couldn't justify the running costs I guess. VolvoT5 said:

V12 but what... 12 mpg and probably not all that much extra performance. Most probably couldn't justify the running costs I guess. I've said here before that the true bottom-feeding barge-ist should never worry about mpg, and that discussion about fuel economy doesn't become any of us, and should render one liable to a beating with a thick swatch of fuel receipts. Evidently, anyone would make allowances for the car that's used daily for a serious distance, but why would you ever buy a 12 cylinder XJS if you're worried about mpg?
I want one so badly it hurts. I've never owned a 12 cylinder car. I doubt they'll exist by the time I'm wearing sani-pad linings in my trousers. I'm not even that bothered about performance, it's just... 'but look, there are 12 of the fking things...'

Like this one, but the pics also look 20 years old. V12 does scare me, not the mpg though.Hard to tell from the ad, but could be very genuine and looks like long ownership. Silver. V12.

Thank you.Like yourself I'm drafting out a long term mechanical/cosmetic maintenance plan.
Collect some new 'standard' number plates from Lancaster Sidcup today (current ones are '3D' and bordered).
It came with private plates. I'm not normally a big fan, but they look age related so will keep for now.
All the best
