Were bum warmers fitted as part of the comfort seat option, or did you have to tick two separate boxes?E24man said:

Alpina fans what do we think of this ad I came across on carandclassic for a 1997 b12 with 80k miles - he wants £30k and is a bit snappy about it as well! http://m.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C606949
He sounds like a prize berk.derin100 said:

What a knobber.
What a fool. I didn't particularly like the tone of the email...so I completely ignored and deleted it!
The seller is....... a little eccentric and wildly optimistic about just about everything.

You will find very few of them ever sell
Possibly because owners have delusional ideas about pricing? Also encouraging when you're trying to shift something at an inflated price to somebody on the basis that it'll definitely go up in value.Hold onto it then if you're so sure. It'd be madness to do otherwise, surely?

Consigned to auction next week, decent chance of getting it for £2xxx I'd have thought.
Admit it, you're tempted

A quick and luxurious v8 barge that has done at most 1/3 of its life and it's in budget - what a bargain. I even think the e65 is getting okay looking (no e23 or e32 though!). I thought I would bring some balance to the recent R129 love on the thread. I have been enjoying roof down motoring of late, unfortunately, it seems my roof control module has decided to commit suicide.
£1000+ new from Mercedes or second hand / re-manufactured part. Lets hope I can find my required, later facelift roof control module, as they "are quite rare" second hand. Which translates to "prepare to have your wallet violently assaulted"
Oh well, some you win, some you lose. The car is running beautifully otherwise. I might just consider having a 500 SLC.

QT - can you not simply leave the roof down, and attach hard top when you fear rain?
I suppose I could, but as I use it eveveryday, easier to just leave the hardtop on. I have the car booked into a folding Roof Specialist, as my usual merc independent does not want to take on R129 roof repairs.
Wish my wallet Good luck.

Sounds like you may already have booked-in somewhere, but I've heard very good things about these folk, near Dorking.http://caymanautos.co.uk/

Guy doing the work was chatty and knowledgeable, there are a few coffee shops just round the corner in the highstreet btw!
Still it comes with a years warranty and it had a hiccup the other day, although fine again 10 mins later.... *fingers crossed*

I have it booked in there. They come well recommended.
I took my SL there just after purchase to get a view on what might need doing in the future. Nice chap, seemed to know what he was talking about, has an AM in the garage, and lots of decent metal hanging around. Tiny little place that can be challenging to find! He wanted to waive the diagnostic fee - I had to insist on paying! One of my staff had work done there and was very impressed.
