Nice 530i!

On the subject of E39s, this looks like it could be nice.

Over budget, but what an interesting colour. Could I get away with gold? Probably not. A brave choice to order new! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2015...

I like that colour can't be many about in that
It is 702 smoke silver, isn't it? Common as muck.

I initially thought so, and if anyone should know it's you, but I don't think it is - in some shots the bonnet catches the light in a way that looks like SS, but the rest of the car, and the bonnet in other shots, appears too yellow / warm (even golden!).
ETA - and other cars in the background, in silver, suggest the lighting is not producing the golden effect.

I thought it was 172 anthracite at first, made to look light and gold by the lighting. But the hardtop must be SS.

Sensors can be bought on ebay for far cheaper than what a dealer charges. Requiring painted ones might be more of a faff, mind.
It's already got one unpainted in the rear bumper. I know you don't have to pay BM price (I think Landie ones fit E46s at least), but it's going to be a loooong time before I'm bothered enough to try and fix them. I never did on my E46...

It's funny when I posted it I was on my iPad and it definitely looked really gold. It looks a little less so on a PC screen, but still very yellow. Smoke silver has always looked like silver with a lovely dash of light brown to me, this looks more yellow. Very strange!

So we can be sure, can you buy it and park it next to your W124?

That it does, (thought someone should compliment you on the find.) The leather could do with a clean, but otherwise, very nice.

O/T, I nearly bought a house boat in the Harts boatyard just upstream from Kingston, nice part of the world.

How come no contrasting Sacco panels? I thought these early R129s were two-tone??

It's not all glamour in r129 land wink have water dripping into the boot! Put some vaseline along the underside of the seal however still getting a slight drip in the boot. Not a lot considering the rain we've had but still need to get it stopped. I can't see any drain holes around the boot, am I missing them? I'm thinking I need a new seal around the boot, thoughts from the 129 beards would be appreciated.

Cheers,
C

Give it all a dusting with talcum powder to work out where it's getting in.

Have a look around the petrol filler / round the neck; i've read of leaks from there before. Also around the lights and where they are bolted up. I would be surprised if it was the seal as its quite a deep "channel".

Leaky headgasket and ABS light on. Bugger that.

Shame, otherwise potentially lovely. SWB would make it close to perfect (and unborked).

I can actually see it dripping from the drivers side of the boot. The cars been parked facing down hill so I could see how the water could build up if there are no drain holes in the channel itself. The talc is a great tip, I've used than in the past to determine the source of leaks.

I've never really come to terms with the slightly overweight look of the CLK.
