Best smoker barges 1-5 large [vol8]

In terms of car for your cash, this is particularly impressive. The AMG badge needs prised off but other than that, there are worse ways to drop £2500. Remember, that back when these were new and being churned out with six figure price tags, that would have bought you a couple of nice suburban semi-detached houses.

Good spot. I'd not really ever considered one of these before the education of this thread, but now I rather hanker after one. Looks good in that colour. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-S500-2-Doo...
The asymmetry of bits from the MB stable - the vents here, the 124 mirrors etc - is part of the appeal for me. The triumph of engineering and function over fashion. It's a pity we don't see more of it in my view.
Forgive a duplicate posting repeated in 0a's 'Classic (old, retro) 0-5' thread, but this old thing might find some love here as well.

Oh dear a couple of dud barges from me then!
Not the right engine or gearbox, but an 'interesting' colour. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-Citroen-C6-2-2HDi-L...
many years ago i had a c5 that colour. The interior was also beige leather with beige carpets. Not the right engine or gearbox, but an 'interesting' colour. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-Citroen-C6-2-2HDi-L...

I love that old merc.
I have an admission - I flew down to see the family this weekend rather than travelling by w124. I'd normally do around 800 miles over the weekend which is two and a bit tanks of fuel at £75 quid each. Return flights were £70. Plus it gives me the whole weekend free (I like driving but time is limited).
The punishment is having to drive a 10 year old focus estate - the tddi version with 90 bhp (when I can't get the slk!). Nasty engine but secretly I like these mk1 focuses and it makes my w124 feel quite nippy which is a good achievement!
Oh and the focus has 130k miles on it and it feels far fresher than the slk which has under 80k on it (and has had some significant suspension work done). Not the finest hour for mercedes build quality clearly! Makes me worry about getting a c32 Amg...
