The Man drives a n estate one of these, a diseasel. He bought it five years and 100,000miles ago for £500. It has never let him down. I think he secretly loves it. Someone brought an identical one in for repair and I think he did it almost for free.

Have you seen BMW's press campaign celebrating 40 years of the three series? I am sure I am not alone in thinking that the product has only got worse as time has passed. The E21 looks like a masterpiece; the F30 a dog's dinner.

I don't agree. For Me the F30 looks fine but the E36 was the best.
anyway they got all the number plate years wrong in that ad.

I really like these, can't see myself ever buying one right enough. A neighbour of mine has had one on an F plate since new, only now see it when the sun is out.

It really wouldn't surprise me if that was CAT D for that key job. Cretins.

Going back to the r129 wheels discussion a few days ago, does anyone know of any Ceginus wheels for sale? On the lookout for a set for my project car.

I've been for a nosey at that dealership a couple of times. Let's just say they don't inspire confidence. Strong money for tatty cars.

But I'd love an RRC.

Completely unrelated, but do I remember that you had a Mk2 Golf recently? I had one years ago, but it's so long I don't really remember the finer points of it.

I'm half tempted by another to do some commuting in, but I assume that it's less refined than an E28 (as a contemporary, common benchmark)?

Much less refined. But very economical. My 8v GTI seemed to do high 30s-to-low 40s mpg at 70ish.

I really like that aside from the exhausts (over the top but I could probably live with them) and the door cards are not leather (so I guess it has had leather seats retrofitted).

The estate exhaust is an unusual shape, so the boot floor can be flat I guess. That looks like something a back street garage knocked up for him.
Amazing history file on that car, if it stacks up.

Looks a bit like the exhaust you get on a MK2 MR2.

No decent person has ever written a car advert entirely in CAPS Lock, but it's a lovely looking car.

That LS looks fantastic value.

My uncle had one back in the day- great stereo, silent engine, and ridiculously light steering. I nearly put it into his wall the first time I drove it!
