Ok here we go the definitive bargain barge, the Lexus LS400, and you don't see many at this price anymore either

£5k Turbo R. OMG. My mates dad had a new one of these in 1986 (as a chauffeur) and used to give us a lift to school, we were 10. Best car ever!

"FIRST TO SEE WILL BUY."
Never a good sales tactic, but looks a nice car.

I've bought a car from this vendor in the past. http://vandpcars.smugmug.com/Cars/1995-Daimler-Six...

Only caveats are don't be fooled by the name of the company they sell all types of vehicles and had a number of trading names.
Also in the case of the vehicle I bought from them they cunningly didn't take any pictures which showed the faded paint on one side. Not that I blame them that's salesmanship.
Other than that they were easy to deal with and the vehicle I bought from them is still going strong, 3 yrs later and has had no maintenance other than tyres and oil changes.
edit to add: they were also a bit on the expensive side when bought from them. I haggled the car down a bit but still paid top whack. I think given the chance to do the deal again I'd have made a lower offer to start with and not gone up as much.

How much did it cost to get the suspension/steering bushes done? This is next on my list.
£415 for the bushes, a further £370 for the water pump/thermo/valley pipes. Supercharger off job.s

I like that, but is rear legroom always that bad in these? My want is blunted by the fact both my children have legs. http://vandpcars.smugmug.com/Cars/1995-Daimler-Six...

As kids we found them plenty roomy with a 5'10" driver, if you're a long-legger you may struggle with rear seat room for adults, but kids should have space.
It's very much down to how you like your seat position - long legs who lie down will find rear passenger space reduced drastically.

Loving the jag talk.
I'd appericate a bit of input, do I stick with my x300 XJ6 manual or twist and get a x308 xjr?
I love the six but I sometimes wish it had (much) more poke, but a manual xj is something so different I also like the idea of getting it into tip top shape.
This is what I'm planning to do with mine, already sorted out the tyres, brakes and new ss exhaust, next sort the interior, then finally the exterior... when funds allow (very few funds available as a 20 year old student!)I'd appericate a bit of input, do I stick with my x300 XJ6 manual or twist and get a x308 xjr?
