One of the few cars I think looks great in silver. C43 AMG at £3,995. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C621428

Terrible ad and pictures, but a 66k mile 4.2 A8 is pretty rare. I quite like these simple looking early ones as well. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A8-4-2-66-000-miles...

Has potential but I'd budget for a full cambelt at £1k and a new set of tyres if it's been sat outside. A good check for blocked drains would be worthwhile too. It's an SE pre-facelift so worth buttons but at least it's got the right engine, even if the spec is low.

I think i have a spare sunroof motor for one of these from when I stripped a solar sunroof assembly to go in mine smile

I'd not do the cambelt, but do a deal on your sunroof motor (we I in the market for another car!).

Good point regarding the tyres, mine probably need changing. As it happens the SL has gone back into the garage today (I collected the W124) for... a steering damper!
Mine was supplied on matching Kumho Ecstas from 2008 with a fair bit of tread on them. Not the worst tyres in the world but the F1s and steering damper have transformed the car. Given the amount of money previous owners spent on sorting the suspension I find it amazing they didn't start from the bottom up with 4 decent tyres.

Chaps, need a quick bit of advice...

Just put an ad up for my 300-24. Sadly I'm having an un-planned house move which means I cant afford, nor want to put the miles on it. I put it into the '300' section, is this the right bit or should it go in the E class bit?? Im a touch confused!! There are about a million different sections!

I put mine in classics, but I think PH is a bit of a waste of time, I got one scammer as the total of PH interest. Carandclassic and ebay classics classifieds (with W124 in the title) are the way to go.

It fits right into this thread, so perhaps someone on here would be interested. Decent advert too...

I get so much interest on ebay for cars. Sure some of it is ste, but I've sold two this year on there and my broken Saab is getting a surprising amount of interest on its current NR auction.

Lots more eyeballs and the big pictures help. Carandclassic really ough to up their game on the photo size front.

"Everything that you have read about W124's is true. They feel cast iron and have battleship levels of build quality and solidarity!"

Lech Walesa should have had one wink

Lovely car

If it had heated seats, and if I hadn't spent £2k on audio in my E280 I'd be tempted to swap - my perfect engine and colour!

BTW, to the owner, do you really find it whisper quiet at 70mph? I find road noise to be one of the weaknesses of the S124. It's really not that refined at high speeds.

A haggle (or further drop in price) would see this very close to thread budget. Market for a petrol, manual Volvo S80 may be small but it appeals to me http://www.cargiant.co.uk/Volvo/S80/details-711085...

+£99 admin fee. Pathetic attitude.

Nice looking thing though, love that interior.
