Best smoker barges 1-5 large [vol8]
Discussion
122k mile 760i V12 - with only 2 years of service history. The plate would have to go... a lot of car for the money though! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-760I-V12-AUTO-with-V...
£4,250, it would be rather satisfying to negotiate this to a number beginning with a 3!

Any changes in the rates for old cars, already semi-submerged in the sedimentary slush that bottom-feeding flat fish like me have to buy (i.e. current Smoker Barges 1-5 large)?
I'm afraid not. Not sure when cars become tax exempt, no changes we mentioned. But I've got one approaching it's 40th.Adrian E said:

These rates only apply to cars purchased from 2017 on
Correct - most likely no more than RPI increases going forward for the existing fleet. Will probably hit values of the top band cars longer term, under the current systemI'll just have to carry on sucking through the sludge then, hoping that occasionally I come upon an old boilie which has drifted down, settled just below the surface and from which all the flavour hasn't yet diffused!

Another "royal" S-class. Somebody ought to point out that foreign royalty doesn't count and middle eastern royalty is decidedly negative. Still, looks nice; but what is going on along the passenger-side front door?

It does look nice. The passenger's side has been repainted badly. The wavy lines look to be 'urethane wave' - caused by bad preparation or spraying technique, leading to height differences in the finish. Many resprayed cars have it to some extent - it is what causes the 'shimmer' down the sides of cars when looked at from an oblique angle. It might be reducible by block sanding- but you are more than likely to go through the paint before you remedy it.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-500-se-W12...

Barge purchase! 1998 Mercedes-Benz CL420 (C140), silver, black nappa leather, 90,000 miles, partial history, new MoT. Lovely to drive, very 'wafty', very quiet, by no means perfect cosmetically but no rust, everything works, including the soft close and the climate control is perfect.
Just under thread budget (started at thread lower limit but gentle negotiation resulted in a bank note of change), I am suitably impressed.
Pics to follow shortly and a new thread in reader's cars.

What? £950!!!??? For a 1998 CL420 with sub-100k miles? That is amazing, isn't it? Pictures required, please. The 420 is reputedly the most economical 140...Just under thread budget (started at thread lower limit but gentle negotiation resulted in a bank note of change), I am suitably impressed.

Manual XJR-6. Quite interesting history. Leaper needs to go, and plate not included thank goodness. Appears to have been cherished. Want is strong.
