Manual XJR-6. Quite interesting history. Leaper needs to go, and plate not included thank goodness. Appears to have been cherished. Want is strong.

5 grand with a knackered driver's seat... Dream on! Lovely idea though.

£5995 - so a bit above budget, and unlikely to drop enough, but...

550i SE 130,000 miles.

I'd prefer a sport and less miles, but it's not that far away, so might go for a look. Although grey with grey is off-putting

Barge purchase! 1998 Mercedes-Benz CL420 (C140), silver, black nappa leather, 90,000 miles, partial history, new MoT. Lovely to drive, very 'wafty', very quiet, by no means perfect cosmetically but no rust, everything works, including the soft close and the climate control is perfect.

Just under thread budget (started at thread lower limit but gentle negotiation resulted in a bank note of change), I am suitably impressed.

Pics to follow shortly and a new thread in reader's cars.
What? £950!!!??? For a 1998 CL420 with sub-100k miles? That is amazing, isn't it? Pictures required, please. The 420 is reputedly the most economical 140...
Hang on.

For some reason I misread that and thought we were talking £4.Xk (briefly noting that these are fetching more money than I remember). Please tell us more, and congratulations!

The perfect seller! Probably a fellow enthusiast, having just replaced it with a 190E 2.6. Looks a nice buy if you can live with spartan.

Someone's been mugged there! That's a steal! The obvious question is what's wrong with it?

Charlesdegaulle there is a Merc A124 convertible in this month's Classic Mercedes that I think is the same model as yours - with the 320 engine, but the nicer pre-facelift styling. 24k miles though!

Must have missed it - probably before my e39 was written off, so not paying attention to powerbarge tourers

Sounds interesting, and possibly the same as mine. A pre-facelift/mid-facelift style is what I have (the obvious clues are the star on the rad rather than bonnet, but with the chrome strips across the top of the sacco panels), and the number preceding the letter - 320 CE rather than CE320.
Can you scan or photo it in? What's he asking for it?

It was in an article - unfortunately I left the magazine on the flight back from London today. It was a 320 CE though, and had ambers.

If it isn't, it's an absolute steal. It may not be, I'm sure I've seen it up elsewhere.

I bet that is quite something. I drove a friend's 545i saloon and it was extremely fast; this must just be the same but more so. Pretty stealth-tactic, as well. Link?

What a lovely looking car! The seller is an enthusiast: he's on the mercedes-190.co.uk forum a fair bit. The only thing that itches my beard is the wheel trims: they're from a first-facelift 124 (they have a chrome outer band which was never present on the 190). Sad bd that I am.
