Yup, it's a 601s, with 26 East German ponies under its bonnet, right next to the fuel tank!
Scotland to Italy, awesome! I drove from Limerick to Malvern this summer with my brother, about 1100 km in total, and thought I'd break before the car did.

1968 Spider Veloce. Picked it up just towards the end of summer so it won't see much action over the winter, with all the salt around.
Handling a bit floppy, very easy to chirp/spin the wheels when taking off at lights. Cabin comfort is largely non existent, fan/heater is a joke, sounds a bit less glorious than I thought it should.

But just look at it.
That is indeed a beauty!

Cheers guys, yeah the tank makes a surprisingly ideal vehicle for popping down to the newsagents for a few lottery tickets and a pint of milk, needless to say parking on the double yellows doesn't present too much of a problem biggrin

The tank is nice, but the immaculate Celica Supra? In chocolate brown? That . . . is . . . wonderful! Did you restore it yourself?
aww999, the Celica Supra is completely original. I purchased it in November 2011 off of the original owners, it was bought as a 25th wedding anniversary present by a wealthy businessman for his wife, and kept in their heated garage until when I purchased it. It's only done 60k and is like new inside and out. Currently for sale if you know anyone who's interested.

My choice of words here will come across as a little mauve, but that is just adorable, right down to the oil leaks. cloud9

Lovely - what colour are you going for, and will it have a standard engine?

Avorio Chiaro (Light ivory). I'm completely rebuilding it. Nothing is staying standard other than the wheels. The car will be fitted with a 126, 650 engine and box.

My old toy was built in 1916.

Its like driving a flatulent baby dragon, pops bangs and flames. At about 15s to 60 its not the fastest thing on the road by a long shot, but it feels like it. Rear wheel brakes, three litre 4 cylinder, 4 forward gears and 2 reverse. Epicyclic gearbox so it would give a DSG gearbox a run for its money. It even spent some time as a circus car and a pig racer the poor thing! (One lap of the track, stop, pick up a pig, another lap, stop, kick out pig, finish race.)

Wonderful!
Mine's a young un in comparison and has had a tweak or two since leaving the coachbuilder nearly eighty years ago...

Was using it as pretty much a daily until I blew the 4.2 XK engine coming home from a party in the early hours, now running a 2.8 and nearly back on the road...
