Hi guys and girls. I'm after a favour (but happy to pay for time and fuel). Myself and my fiancée are getting married on 10th January 2015 in the Bicester area. We're huge petrol heads and love the beauty of supercars. Are any of you kind folk available with your pride and joy on the 10th. Everything is local, I.e church and reception, so minimal miles. It would just make our day super special if my fiancée could turn up in an awesome car, it need not be a supercar, her fav is Nissan gtr but she loves v8s (she's from oz so grew up with them. Look forward to hearing from you lovely people. Thanks. Lee

Try your local sub-forum, think that's how I got a car for my wife to use. Although we weren't after a freebie, just a last minute help that we were happy to pay for.

Local to me so I should be able to help out. Choice of a very loud TVR Chimaera V8 or the more luxurious but rather quiet Jaguar XJR Supercharged V8 :-)

Getting a bride into the TVR can be a bit of a challenge though being a 2 seater but I have done it before. Bride in the full meringue push pulled and piled into the passenger seat.

ETA: Assuming of course someone doesnt come up with her preferred car. But maybe if you can get a few offers we can do a noisy convoy :-)

ETA2: or the Merc SLK but thats only a V6

Awesome guys, thanks so much for the offers. Beautiful cars. Is that the vxr8 from Silverstone ss this year. We chatted for a bit.

Not a big poster so was unaware of regional forums. Bicester is a bit awkward as classed as south east but it's near others, I.e midlands.

I mentioned the offers so far and she is happy for me to choose, she suggested if there are several offers then the boys get a car too. Maybe the v8 convoy mentioned earlier! So, there are 4 girls, bride and 3 bridesmaids in staying in lovely farmhouse in poundon night before wedding. Wedding and reception are both in ambrosden. There are 3 boys, me, my son who is 5(he's best man) and bride's brother who is coming all the way from oz (first time in uk/Europe). We're ambrosden, ambrosden, ambrosden (simple!).

Anyway guys, thank you so much. I'd like to get things sorted before Christmas if possible.

Any more offers?

Thanks

Lee

Awesome vxr8, proper Aussie muscle. Wedding is at 3pm.

Paul, can't believe that. It's our church, my parents live just along from you in new row and we live behind park rise in the newer houses. You must live near Mary. Been considering an old Saab convertible just to get me through the year as just sold my Honda and cycling is a bit chilly at the mo.

The jag is an awesome car, another of her favourites. Oz muscle meets English class. Similar to us, except she's the classy oz and I'm just the brit😊.

Thanks guys

If you need a fall back plan B I can probably offer assistance, have friends in Gawcott which isn't a million miles away if a GT-R is of interest? certainly not a super car though.

Ok guys, My thoughts/wishes....

VXR8 (Barny) - Bride + 1 (Poundon around 2.30pm on 10th)
Jag (Dodsy) - remaining 2 bridesmaids (Poundon around 2.30pm on 10th)
Saab (Paul) - 3 x Boys (Few minutes before service or a little open top spin around the 10 mile circuit??!!)

Would be great if the GT-R could pick us up following our wedding night away in Poundon and take us home (Ambrosden) on 11th. Could you check please?

Again, thanks for your kindness/offers. Realise this isn't a taxi service so, as said in original post, will pay for time/fuel/costs.

Re hooning, loads of country roads around here, plus a few good straights! Recently witnessed a race between SL55 AMG and superbike (Bicester to Aylesbury road), unbelievable acceleration from overtaking me (60mph in the yaris!). Not sure what happended but something went on the merc and lots of smoke (looked expensive), still drove but was driving very gingerly when we caught them up a few miles later....

If you have WAGs in tow then Bicester village is couple of miles away but that may turn out expensive.....

Thanks

Lee
