You have to be careful to avoid buying a heap of trouble so we do need to be picky but in the last week we have had....
1.Manic sausage fingered salesmen.
2.Back yard 'private',rolleyes dealers (two other cars parked up with blacked up tyres and a Transit low loader in the drive),
3.Oh it's a cat c? sorry I didn't know....
4.All that white stuff in the oil cap? Er yes I have had to put some water in it now I come to think of it.
5.No I cant sell it yet,the V5 is not back from the DVLA after swapping the PP,(well re-advertise it when you can sell it).
The hunt continues.

Having a good dealer that you trust can take some of the heartache out of the process, but they seem few and far between.

Good luck!

laugheekTell me about it.I had a quick do in it when we got home, manic little thing it is.
It was raining like mad on the way home but even with super soft tyres on it he said the TC light was flashing when we had a little do coming out of a roundabout onto a dual carraigeway.I have a passat B6 TFSI,200 bhp and there was nothing in it between us (other than his tractor doing over 50 mpg).

They are quite rapid little hot hatches, had one keep up with the Jag (V8) once.

Be interesting to see how reliable it is, they seem quite well put together?

I am a bit sad but I love looking through paperwork that comes with a car.
This fabia came with the original bill of sale from new and tons of reciepts that match the stamps in the service book.

Always a good sign. You even have those rare owners who keep every fuel receipt from new, admireable but for me a bit over the top.
I mean, theres no doubt the car has been FUELLED regularily hehe

That's 1 of the pleasures of buying a car. I religiously go through the paperwork on the first evening the car comes home. It builds up more of the history of the car and usually throws up some good stuff; £850 invoice 4 months ago covering service and a number of bits replaced that had not been mentioned in the negotiation. Discs and pads fitted only a few thousand miles ago.

Petrol receipts is a bit OTT or OCD but I like to see previous tax discs. Used to keep all mine.
