Genuinely funny I thought. The cars were just right. Especially the TT. And the previous cars. Top work. PH blew it a bit though, by clearly stating it was a joke.

Never fails to amaze me how people can comment on an article yet haven't - or are unable to - read the actual words in it.

My money would go on

I thought they were part of the joke as well.

Is this from the April the 1st issue, Ford Ecosport, one of the most heavily criticized cars Ford has produced since the mk4 escort, even the Cubans have refused to have it and as for it having a whiff of Range Rover it must of been when the Rangie had crapped itself laughing at the Ford.
Anyway one of the best Christmas wind up articles I have seen so far this year and it gave a chuckle.

may I wish all Pistonheaders and their families a fantastic Christmas and a brilliant new year.

Forgetting the complete tool that sent that list in, why on earth did the people at PH think we'd rather look at that than one that wasn't an obvious joke or just completely pointless.

It's not the OP that needs a dunces hat it The PH staff that posted It up.

Because it has wound you up. That's why. I think it's a pretty amusing way of holding up a mirror to Pistonheads and having a good chuckle at ourselves. There can only be so many M5 Tourings, and Range Rover Classics...

Top Marks!

Near-perfect tongue-in-cheek/ pisstake £100K garage.

A poseur white convertible TT with an oil burner... Im sad that there are human beings with that kind of money to spend who would opt for this over... well, anything really.

This is just about as dull as they come, i nearly fell off the chair with being on the news in the Dodge, wonder what will happen in a Ferrari and why choose a car that has a whiff of range rover instead of just choose it. Interesting guy indeed

So, let me get this right, people are paying to advertise cars on Pistonheads and they are then being publicly mocked and Pistonheads users being told they'd be a joke if they bought them? Sounds like money poorly spent on the advertising and a lack of respect for paying customers.

Alas, no. The majority of those are from dealers who couldn't care less what people think of their diesel crossover; the person buying them wants one £500 cheaper than the over. They cover their bases on advertising, and will have posts on Autotrader etc., the only difference here is that PH runs an editorial side which, for better or worse, draws attention to these cars.

Instead of your sanctimonious whining, why don't we all take a second to praise the editorial team who have (with good humour) retained integrity, and independence, and are more interested in giving people something interesting, and amusing, to read. And not sucking up to manufacturers by posting meaningless MPG figures, or extolling the EcoSport as a Fiesta with a bit more ride height.

Will the people who lay to advertise in your clasifieds be quite as appreciative of your comments?

Again (assuming lay means pay) are you really celebrating the fact that advertisers could influence editorial content? I assume you read PH, and appreciate unbiased comments that don't paint CO2 emissions as the be-all-and-end-all?

I doubt they will massively appreciate it but they knew what they were getting into when they paid for an advert.

Did you enjoy your little moan?
