Has anyone actually any knowledge of someone who HAS paid an over the top price? And what their motive was? I’ve seen top priced cars on PH and Auto trader. They eventually disappear, so did they get their magic figure, or what did they actually sell for? If a I see a car say at £15,000, when the realistic value is say £10,000, what response you get if you offer that?
Just paid £3k for a £2k car; it was the only one going, and the 'buy one of those instead' options were all even more crazy money, or a total rust bucket that had somehow been bodged through an MOT. So it was into 'oh, sod it, OK then' territory, as it was a bigger markup in % terms than in total (even though it's pricey for me).

He gets so excited in the description that it even jumps up to 7,400 at one point!

The majesty of the five digit odometer! Then again, 100,000 miles was probably optimistic for a 1990s Ford.

100k is nothing really for the 1.8 diesel in those vans, it would never win any races but would go forever. looking at how shiny the steering wheel is I would say you are right it has gone around the clock.

HEIDI- Rare Ford Escort Van- 1994 with original factory blue paint, 24,490 genuine very low miles, never been used for any rough work, 12 months MOT (two advisories) Very clean and tidy interior, bodywork is in very good order apart from needing a little work on the drivers side wing (had a dent), the light casing is loose and the bonnet paintwork is weathered-as shown in photos!! She had been kept in a heated garage for approximately 15years before I bought her in Jan 2012- she needs someone who can really take care of her- I get a lot of people with 'van envy' asking about her- she is a beauty!!

SHACK IN THE HILLS - Rare Ford Escort Van- knackered and old with original factory blue paint on most panels, 24,490 genuine (ahem honest guv) very low believability miles, never been used for any rough work (only porked hotties in this), 12 months MOT (two advisories = its fooked and dont buy it) Very clean and tidy interior (apart from the dirty come/piss/blood stains in the back, greasy shiny seats and all switches taken from a vehicle 10x this ones age) and bodywork is in very good order apart from needing a little work on the drivers side wing (had a dent....when i say had what i mean is that it still does and you may be able to see the rusty mess in some of the pics if you look very carefully....i mean its pretty much mint), the light casing is loose (maybe something to do with the minor dent that has no underlying damage honest) and the bonnet paintwork is weathered-as shown in photos....even though i said the body work is in good order apart from the dent that used to be there!! She had been kept in a heated garage for approximately 15years before I bought her in Jan 2012...and i really believed the welsh farmer that told me that when i picked it up from behind the cesspit - she (well the shed) needs someone who can really take care of her because both me and the farmer fked a lot of girls in the back of this - I get a lot of people with 'van envy' asking about her...then run away laughing and go get a tetanus shot - she is a beauty....just like my aunty myfanwy who taught me everything i know in the back. also for sale - 8 oversized subwoofers

MoT history says it read 9,889 on the odo in May 2011, so are we really expected to believe that in the first 17 years of its life a van averaged 580 miles a year?! That's 12 miles a week hehe

I drove a '96 P plate version a bit when it was 4 or 5 years old. My main memories were of the horrendous (unassisted) steering which felt like it was set in concrete when parking but provided no feel or feedback on the move, and the rear suspension which is a scaffold bar bolted to some cart springs which are far too hard unless the back is full of concrete. Horrible thing.

See these a lot in Sweden where they're usually restricted to 30kp/h and driven by kids laugh not quite as pricey as that though.

Looks a bit tatty to me, and is it a different shade of green at the front and back? You can see the fade about 1/4 of the way along the door in this pic

Also, the seller claims it's based on a 'rust free' E Class, and everyone knows there is no such thing hehe

To be fair the "shade difference" appears to be due to reflection in the photo - to be sure, it would have to be viewed by the naked eye. Still a pricey vehicle though!

no-one is paying that sort of money for them. the ones I have seen advertised are the same old ones from 12-24 months ago. they aren't shifting, or not available. you'd be mad to spunk 90k on an Integrale ( even 30k ).

They're worth every penny of 30k, believe me. If the mileage is real and condition of that car is A1, it's realistically worth in the 50s or 60s.
