They've been going a while so I'd say they shift some stock. They seem to turn them over pretty quickly as well. Some of their mark ups are silly though, I saw a mark 2 Golf GTI on Car and Classic for sensible money. A few days later it was on their site for a lot more, and it wasn't on there for long either!

But my example above, 10k's worth of difference is madness. I am pretty sure they are giving private sellers their asking price, then marking it up by nearly 50-70 %.

There's a Mk1 Scirocco Storm on there for 14.5k, FFS! Laughable.

Even in the Renault 5 example above it has a "parking dent" in it!!

I remember the same thing happening with a low mile Corrado G60 that was for sale on another forum I use. Think it sold for about £6k only to re-appear on their website for over double that!

Flame suit on, but Integrales. I know they're amazing. But they're not £60k+ for a clean late example amazing. Or £100k for a white one and some Martini stickers that, being applied by Lancia in the early 90s, will probably peel off as soon as you drive away.

let me put it this way....you could have one mint 993 turbo or:

1 x 92 Lotus Elan SE
1 x Saab 900 Turbo cabriolet
1 x Jag XJ6
1 x DS
1 x Peugeot 504 Cabriolet
1 x Renault Alpine

.........all well spannered and running nicely. Because I always had a he'll of a problem in front of the pic n mix as a kid I would chose the latter option for my (rather large) garage.
And I'd still prefer the 993.
And me, I'd hate to be lumbered with all them other cars hehe

Mercedes G Wagen
first thing that came into my head was a G wagen. even early 90's G's are asking for pretty strong money let alone the more current 500 and 55's, which the majority also seem to be left hookers... I reckon the newest G63's really wont suffer that much depreciation at all compared to other luxury 4x4s.

what also comes to mind and despite not being a car is VW Transporters (T5 and 5.1). they are absolutely insanely over priced on the used market.. hence why we thought stuff it and brought a new Lwb Sportline Kombi which pound for pound was a better buy.. We definitely wouldn't struggle to sell it & I think we'd get a healthy amount of money back for it when we do come to sell it.

Dunno if the recent G-Wagens are any better but when I last looked they were real rot boxes, too. People asking strong money for stuff that was falling apart.

A very nice car indeed, but this price is surely taking the piss.

5 years ago this was probably a £50k car.

Me neither.
Roughly 10 times what it should sell for.

I think that's great. Worth 5k imo. What else can you buy for 5k? A boring vw polo, citreon picasso etc.

That £9k car is vile, presumably he's seen Cosworths rocket so in his head XR3Is follow the same trajectory.

Bearing in mind
1. Bond never drove one
2. You could buy a genuine Goldfinger style Silver Birch DB5 Coupe for half the price
3. You could buy seven mechanically nearly identical DB6s for the same money
4. You could buy ten DB2/4 Mk IIIs, a car that Bond actually did drive.

Ladies and Gents, I give you the 10K Rover 75

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C590897

"There is no battery in it so I couldn't verify the mileage, but the owner says it is definitely between 150 and 200 miles" oh, ok then.
