i dont think that's unreasonable, you can spend 30k on a golf or a civic, and the mini is pretty unique and extremely cool biggrin

It's very minty, but at around 10x the price of a decent one it's a tough sell.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-911-993-3-6-Carr...

this has been for sale for ages.I guess 200 grand seems a lot to spend to be embarrassed by hot hatches in your tat-covered Carrera 2.
That 728i has been for sale for ages and nice as it appears I just really struggle to envisage the profile of the potential buyer for it at that price.

As for that Porsche...I wouldn't be worried about being embarrassed by hot hatches...I'd just be embarrassed...period! laugh

With a business name like 'Appreciating Classics' wouldn't a better model be to sell none of them if he genuinely believes they are appreciating classics hehe

you have to wonder why he bought the original vehicle, and then had essentially a replica of it built?

Indeed! laugh Maybe he's just a generous type wishing us all to benefit in the future from his present generosity?

Bad name choice.

In fairness they do have some stunning cars for sale. But the instant you look at them as actual drive-on-the-road cars, rather than as investment pieces to lock away in secure storage, the illusion quickly dissipates...

£17,250 for an MG Metro Turbo anyone? nuts

I think the low mileage one recently that went for 50k has started a surge in pricing

How about £80K for a (albeit, very nice) W124 E60?

http://www.charlesironside.co.uk/

The website is a bit pants as you can't link to individual cars.

That E60 is a rare, desirable car though, and has been in demand for many years in the likes of Germany. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't sell to the continent what with being LHD and how strong the Euro currently is

Plus it's a proper bad-ass super saloon cool

I'm hardly the biggest Porsche connoisseur/fan, but I really like that! getmecoat

Obviously the price is La La Land, but I've yet to see a 993 that isn't.

and sadly I'm not in any danger of dropping £200k on any car anytime soon
Looks fantastic but needs a 600hp turbo nutter monster engine to justify the looks and anywhere like the price.
It was the first UK RWB based on a tip 993, you could achieve this for less than £100k to your own spec if you wanted to (kit, wheels, workshop and of course brining th main man over to instal would be less than £30k) - even though some do have monster power they are few and far between. There are three LHD for sale in the US (one a back dated car) for less than $130k to put the price into perspective.

That's a lovely car, the last one I saw was up for £60k and I thought that was optimistic. I would love one but at £80k there are a whole load of cars that I would choose first.

also worth noting if you buy a RWB, it comes with everything every other RWB comes with, st craftsmanship

A 79 mile van though nonetheless. Can't decide if a reasonable value or not to be honest.
