Is it a joke? £20k for an Astravan?

A 79 mile van though nonetheless. Can't decide if a reasonable value or not to be honest.
Yes, I see your point - 79 miles is remarkable. But... it's an ASTRAVAN. For £20,000. I'd still be ashamed to put my dog in it, and the poor pooch has been dead for ten years. Joking aside, I'd have thought the best chance to get rid of this would be to a Vauxhall museum or some such place (assuming they have one).
There are better things I could buy for £20,000. I mean, it's £20,000. For an ASTRAVAN.

Surely this MK6 RS2000 is ambitous? Before I seen the price I assumed these things would be worth around £2k these days.

How about £80K for a (albeit, very nice) W124 E60?

http://www.charlesironside.co.uk/

The website is a bit pants as you can't link to individual cars.

Just come across this E60 too

That's a lovely car, the last one I saw was up for £60k and I thought that was optimistic. I would love one but at £80k there are a whole load of cars that I would choose first.
Cloud cuckoo land, I remember seeing an SL73 up for sale maybe 5 years ago and that was sub 20 grand!

Very nice car and i love w124's but thats an insane price..

It was the first UK RWB based on a tip 993, you could achieve this for less than £100k to your own spec if you wanted to (kit, wheels, workshop and of course brining th main man over to instal would be less than £30k) - even though some do have monster power they are few and far between. There are three LHD for sale in the US (one a back dated car) for less than $130k to put the price into perspective.
also worth noting if you buy a RWB, it comes with everything every other RWB comes with, st craftsmanship
Quite a broad brush statement. Out of curiosity, how many of them have you seen in the flesh?

I saw lots of the build photo and videos of the last one. Having friends that have built show cars and seen quality workmanship, I'd go with utter ste and poor craftsmanship for the barried 911's

What he said ^^ I've owned RS fords (and and RS Audi) so I can appreciate the good ones... MK6 RS2000 is not a good one! Maybe at £2k it'd be fun but nearly £6k, jeeeeeesus.

Whether it's good or not isn't relevant. It's an RS Ford so its value is going to rise. The Mk3 and Mk4 Escorts were rubbish but RS Turbos are making good money.

They've also got the older shape with less miles on for the same price

They got pretty good write-ups at the time so not surprised they're that price

I think Modern Classics mag had a Mk6 featured last month too and anything decent, low mileage with an RS badge isn't going to lose much

Older Golfs and Peugeots are going for more and even unloved stuff like the GTEs are selling around this price

How? Why? Surely this dealer will have to close their doors when people start to realise what 'value' means again
