Not sure how rare these are but £20k for a non Cosworth MK5 Escort?
That's close on 10 times what it should be!
"Only three left on the road" - so flippin' what, that doesn't make it worth the asking price!
Also I could be mis-recalling but weren't the Mk5 RS2000's known for being a bit crap?

£30K for Lotus Elise Sport 160? Granted, it's in very good condition and has only done 24,000 miles, but the asking price still seems a little steep to me ...
These are only going to go up and up-I reckon in 2 years time that'll be cheap, especially for a S160 in that original condition.
It'll be interesting to see. It's not been long since Sport 160 cars were up for sale at around £15-18K. The one in the advert has an aftermarket interior, although the seller does state that he still has the original parts. I'm surprised he didn't refit the original parts, photograph it and then sell it as 'unmodified'! Also, it needs a cambelt change. I'd want that done for £30K! :P
I had a Sport 160 when new in 2000, sold it when 2 years old for £14k...d'oh!

Mind you, I don't get the fuss, the engine was not great by any means, a 111s was way nicer, but hey ho.

IIRC they got pretty good reviews

Fiat Tipo 16v was the hot ticket in that class at that time

I recall the Tipo 16v winning the group tests of the day.

I also remember the mk5 RS2000 getting a special mention that Ford had actually managed to produce quite a decent car considering what a turd the regular 1.4 model was.

Yes, pretty much, Tipo 16v won every group test of that time for that class, beat the Golf Gti, RS2000, Civic VTi, Renault 19 16v, Astra GSi, Rover 220gti, Sunny Gti. Escort always impressed them with how good it was handling/dynamics-wise in RS form compared to the poor base model car. Also won the fwd class 2 years in a row in the RAC Rally and the British Rally Championshop soon after

Don't recall the 4wd adding much ability wise though

To be honest, you rarely see any of that hot hatch class these days - Tipo has all but disappeared

They are crap to drive as well. One of the most disappointing cars I've owned. Still they seem to hold their value well at 25fkinggrand I'm not sure it cost that when it was new. biggrin
