Personally, R34 GTR's. They are awesome cars but at least £23,000+ for one, on the way up, too.

S15 silvias. Pretty, but as it was sold here they are all imports. £6,000+ more expensive than the S14/a that it followed, with a different body shape, gearbox and diff and a ball bearing turbo.

99% of used cars in the USA. E36 M3s between $25k-$30k.

Too true - I come from Huddersfield originally and still do my car buying down that way, the dealers seem far more flexible with their deals etc too.

The Celestial Blue ZS they have, while nice, is ridiculously overpriced and has been for sale for years! As has most of their stock...makes me wonder how they make money.

Shame as if the prices for the low mileage MGR stuff were more reasonable I'd be tempted to go take a look...

Land Rover Defender.

The basic price of a basic Defender is huge, when you think what you [don't] get as standard. Likewise used ones hold their value well, even a 10yo 100k plus Defender 110 SW is likely to set you back at least £10k..

You're really buying the heritage and capability rather than comfort or refinement and toys.

£15k for a Renault 5GT with 50k on the clock sounds reasonable, as does £17k for a 1960 Austin van with 42k on the clock.

People will pay that same money these days for a 5 year old diesel A4 with 120k on the clock.

I'd go as far as to say the TVR Sagaris has found its level, price-wise. As an owner I'm obviously not complaining, but they currently change hands for more than they were new.

I'd hazard a guess that you'd be buying a 15k Audi for a slightly different reason to a specialist 15k gt turbo. Anyway, if you bought that 15k gt, what do you think you'd be able to realistically sell it for privately the day after?
