r26.r/275 Trophy R's.

They're only Meganes for Christs sake.
In the literal sense they are 'just Meganes' but it'd be like saying a Focus RS is just a Focus.

They're extremely rare and included some exclusive parts only available on those models (carbon bonnet, titanium exhaust, perspex windows etc).

That said, you could turn an R26 Megane into an .R so it would be almost as light and 90% the same. But the original will always command a premium. I believe there's only about 150 of the R26.R in the country.

This ones not bad value for the apparent condition (ok pity it's not a Mi16!)
"apparent condition"? It hasn't been on the road for over 4 years, and there's no clue about mileage smile

It's an ex Rover dealer, I think he has had them in stock from new

2005 25 1.4 with 20 miles 11 years on the forecourt not even had an MOT yet!

Surely once it is registered like this one is then the clock is ticking on the 3 year MOT period regardless of use. So it effectively ran out of MOT in 2007.

The Mi16 was the 405. They never did a 406 Mi16, but they did do a 3 litre V6.

https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/ says it was at 86k miles when last tested in 2010.

I would have thought those Rovers were basically unsellable unless priced at current used values for the year. As soon as you drive that 75 off the forecourt it would lose, what, probably £25k? I doubt they will ever be desirable in the collectors market. Maybe the dealer got them off Rover for buttons and doesn't care how long they take to sell?

You would have to be mental to pay those prices for a 25/ZR in 2016. The V8's being rather rare and sought after is fine but z bloody old 25 is not worth it at all. Even with 5 miles on clock. Interior is so so dated. Build quality is terrible. God, I'm having flash backs lol.

I'm genuinely contemplating giving the dealership a call just to ask them about the prices, it's ludicrouslaugh

I've checked a few vehicles on the MOT history site. None of them appear to have been MOT'd for years.

Either the proprietor is delusional and won't sell for a penny less or they died years ago and no one's noticed.

5 year old thread on a Rover 75 forum

There was a similar place in North London Derek J Ketteringham's Used Rover Centre. He had hung onto stuff for years not just the cars but the brochures and all the dealer sign age from his days with Austin Rover. I think he has recently retired and sold the place for redevelopment

In a way it's sad that this place has closed, it seems very nostalgic to see.. £5995 for the M reg Audi A8.. it doesn't seem as overpriced as the stty Rover place, and it's certainly far more interesting.. very sad frown
