I mean if they are going to take the piss on the price you would have thought the least they could do was spend 20 mins taking some decent photos. It isn't even an MG or a nice colour or anything. vomit

Wasn't there a batch of these a few years back (late 90s?) that were discovered and sold off really cheap?
There were about 600 Maestros built up from lhd kits ( most converted to rhd ) by Parkway Services in Ledbury. They were R reg on for a few years - they were just about the cheapest new car you could buy here at one stage.

I see one still running about locally

Hate adverts like that.
Full of sentences starting with 'I believe', 'Apparently', 'My understanding is' and 'I read' inly to be followed by the classic 'however I cannot verify this fact'

I think my expectations of a 35k Impreza are different to his.

The bloke must be straight up mental if he genuinely thinks it's worth that.

How many times has he said 'your' instead of 'you're' - "ultimately your still left with a normal car which will in time depreciate"

Wow, so not even proper UK spec cars then? I know the story made the news at the time as they were something like £5k IIRC. Still they must have been absolute death traps compared to modern cars on sale by the late 90s / early 2000s.

Well, Carlsberg is probably the best lager in the world. All these- often expensive outfits- are covering themselves with such phrases. if they are experts, they will know. and there will be no probability. Massively annoying ads! Even more so in the case of potential classics " Delivered new to Dr. John Smith of Ponteland on June 11th, 1939. So?

Not sure if this belongs here.

No idea of 850 prices.

850 CSi for £60k?

It's a low mile, manual 850CSI (fastest one). It's strong money, but it's not worth 60k. half that I'd say.

I'm not sure how you can say that given it's incredibly rare. If you want a car like that are you going to find another? 360bhp V12 with a manual box?

Yes. The thing is, they were no good new. Yes I can understand that it would be a bit of a laugh - ironic?- at £1000. otherwise, no

A BMW E30 325i motorsport with 106,000 miles for £20,000!!! The rust has been repaired.

I can see an ultra low mileage car perhaps making that but not a high miler.

CSi s do good money, a 205k km one (in nice condition admittedly) went for EUR 40k or so recently, a 36k km one for EUR 90k. Admittedly this is the Netherlands, so the prices are up on what they would be in the UK.

But those are really into the territory of having to choose between the one or two that are on the market if you really want one.

I like that.

Never understood the attraction with period tyres though.

The recent praise as a driver's car and article in EVO magazine has probably prompted them to chance their arm so to speak
