I have no idea what you are on about tbh, or what relevance it has to this topic.
Well, in a previous thread you started, you are suggesting you purchased a Special Mercedes at a huge discount and that you are the font of all knowledge in regards to discounts.-and gave this purchase as an example of your cunning and guile. However, in your wisdom, you didn't spot that the car you purchased has neither the correct wheels nor badging. Furthermore, unfortunately that chassis number doesn't appear on the Merc records as an S70. mistakes do happen, of course so I wont say 100% that it's wrong.
On the balance of probabilities though, you've been mugged.
So perhaps best to not give wisdom or advice on topics you have no real world experience of.
So if my car is a fake, I guess the welded Mercedes plaquet is a fake?
this one fake too then?
The wheels are different because this is a newer model with newer wheels, its a 98 model as opposed to the 96-97 with different wheels.
I have already received all the paperwork and it checked out, even rang AMG in Germany and they confirmed it.
Mugged? Sure...Jog on mate.

Chassis number is wrong. You're posting pictures that you recieved from the seller. Post up when the car arrives and il'll eat my words. I however, have found a video of your car in Japan. It isnt an S70.
You are in a sense right, it isnt an S70. Its a S600L 7.0. But people usually call it S70 Got a link to the video? Edited by Vacationboy on Friday 19th December 22:58
I would perhaps be a tad more worried had I not already received all the paperwork by DHL express, complete with AMG leather books and paperwork, which clearly states engine volume 7.05L in the reg card.
Perhaps they faked that too : - )
Nice derail slagging off my car though, hat doffed.

Well done.

What will they claim cost price to be? I know there will be bonuses outside of the margin for units sold etc etc. And yes I agree the dealers do need to make money but any idea what cost will be claimed as?
I notice they used the past tense indicating that they've paid for the cars. As that's not normal practice (dealer usually pay on registration) I'll bet this only applies to cars they've had in inventory for a long time, or bought as PAC cars. What will they claim cost price to be? I also think it's deceptive to pretend that cost price means much. Rebates / bonuses etc produce most of dealers profit - the upfront margin is close to irrelevant. On most cars it's all but given away anyway.

If a dealer receives and invoice for a vehicle from the manufacturer showing how much they have paid for the car how is it deceptive? Is it reasonable to insist on the dealer also giving the rebate/bonus money that they might not in fact receive at the end of a quarter when someone may well be buying a car in the first month of that quarter.
Such events are quite common and usually genuine, but the margin saved may not be quite a much as you'd think. Truth is, margin on initial sale bread and butter new cars is very low, will be more on VW than say, Peugeot I'd imagine, but around d 5 to 10 percent margin is negotiable in most cases, talking generally.
So that s the sort of figure you could get off what you may normally be able to buy for imho.
But as was eluded to earlier, it's year end, and dealers are on retained audited margins and volume bonuses. So this will be an incentive to sell 'at cost' and pick up profit from finance and doc fees, as well as maybe maximising a retrospective margin on cars sold this year.
I've not read the speiel as I can't open the link, but I'd imagine you need to register it this year prior to 31st December?
Anyway, I'd think it genuine, and a genuine opportunity to save a few quid if you're looking for a new vw. But be prepared for the hard sell in finance, service plans, dealer fit accessories etc, as this will boost their profits too.

Their stock clearance deals look far more tempting than a few percent off a new car. This 64 plate Passat looks like a proper bargain...
