Bird droppings
We've got a car port on the side of the garage - it's essential as we have some huge trees and sap and (in autumn) leaves fall like rain. It makes a right mess in literally seconds. The OHs car goes under it and the bikes and car in the garage; they can't be left out. Total and utter pain in the arse.

Oh, come on, it's nearly Christmas! We should give the OP the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure his Plymouth Prowler teacher "relates directly to the function and carrying on" of the OP's business... wink

He can keep on... driving at least until... redcard and judge

On what basis? Is that car related to your business?

Home improvements aren't automatically VAT free or reduced rate:

I have no idea. I just have a feeling he is an act first, check the rules second - hence my question.

Aren't the rules of the custard test a photo?

Surely - a photo of custard with the OP - in the driver's seat of his car under the car port - with his dog in the passenger seat - and a copy of this week's Radio Times for good measure - must be the minimally acceptable standard.

Then I stand by my previous comment, ergo, you cannot recover the VAT - so the amount due is higher than you have stated.
