Decent quality tools for DIY type use and that set looks very good value at that price.

I've for a smaller set that I bought about ten years ago and it's still going strong. smile

Good find !

I've applied the man maths, and although I already have a half decent half inch drive set, I'm about to embark on ripping the engine out of my classic Subaru Impreza, and 4 ratchets have got to be better than 1.

I can collect mine on xmas eve, a present to myself !

I bought a halfords pro socket set 10 years ago. I gets used every time I do anything to the car and has taken some abuse over the years!

It's still as good as new and tight as a drum. I rave about halfords pro tools to anyone who'll listen!
These will last and last thumbup
Same.

And their lifetime guarantee has been put to the test thumbup

Wandered in 6 years after purchase without a receipt, explained sockets fall off the smallest rachet. The guy took one look, took me to the cabinet and gave me a brand new replacement.

The 150 piece (addition of screwdrivers?) has £100 off too, now priced at £100.

I've ordered the £60 one.

You can get something very similar off eBay for £80 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331342958037?_trksid=p20...

It looks like theres two or three units sold under multiple brands (you can get one with one less drawer for around £65).

Why do you need two? (serious question)
One for home and one for tinkering at work.

Interestingly rather than jumping back to £160, it's now selling at £80.

The whole range is half price - the special offer looked like it was "just" another £20 off.

Well, I reserved mine yesterday only to get a phone call this morning from my local store to say it is not in stock and they can't get it in from anywhere. Therefore they will cancel my reservation.

I noted that it showed as being in stock at said store when I reserved it. She said the website does that sometime....

I had a low opinion of Halfords before but thought I'd give them another go. I don't think I'll bother again.

Got a call today saying there's a set waiting for me at the local store, have until the 1st to decide if I want it. Halfords ebay store had them at £60 this morning, along with other discounted bits.

So they had a computer glitch but they had the good service to call you and let you know your item wasn't avilable, and somehow that's bad?
I'd hate you as a customer, people make mistakes.

Despite reserving online and being told it wouldn't be available until the 30th December, I got a call from my local branch today saying it was ready for collection.

I picked mine up today, and the quality looks superb ! Makes me want to go and rip an engine apart now !

One criticism, the clips on the front of the case that hold it closed seem a bit flimsy, one fell off the 1st time I tried to open the case. Still, for £59.99, I'm over the moon !

The cases are st but that's covered by the lifetime warranty so take it back!

For those with Halfords or other decent tool chests, they do plastic trays for about a tenner made to take the entire set in a drawer
