Why do cars have it I can't see how it works unless they stick a wall between the driver and the passenger
I spend my life adjusting them in Audi so they match its giving me OCD
Hold down the 'auto' button and it will sync both sides for you. Any adjustments to driver side and the passenger side will replicate it. I spend my life adjusting them in Audi so they match its giving me OCD

Had our Audi A4 2 years...and for 2 years I've changed both dials and cursed. On ours it appears you click and hold the temp dial to sync. Thanks for the pointer !! I hate not having dual climate, and really miss when moving from BMWs where you can set the vent that blows on your face at a different temp to the rest as well.
19ºc cabin temp for me with cool air on my face and 24ºc for my missus with her heated seats on. Perfect, it makes her drousy and fall asleep and allows me to play my "boring" music without any moaning.

It used to be a pain in the arse, when you had to adjust both sides to make them match when you had no passenger / suffered from OCD.
But I haven't seen a modern car that doesn't have the option to link the two settings so they both adjust together. With this system, I don't see any problem at all.
I prefer BMW's take on it. In the E46, I have single-zone digital temperature control, but the "face" vents in the upper dash can be controlled independently with a little dial of their own. So while I get nice warm feet and the windscreen demists, I can still get cool air on my face. Setting the dial in the middle makes it follow whatever the main system is doing, so it's not an arse-pain when you don't want to use it.

I loved that feature in my Jaguar X300. Warm feet, cool face. But I haven't seen a modern car that doesn't have the option to link the two settings so they both adjust together. With this system, I don't see any problem at all.

I have this in my daily driver, and was sceptical about it to begin with, but have found in use, it is surprisingly efficient, in terms of giving me the conditions I want on my side of the car, but allowing passengers to set their own conditions, which might be very different to mine. But I have heard it said, that it really comes into its own, when an Eskimo wants to give a lift to an African
I'm surprised that some kind of electrical storm or something doesn't start in the OH's car somewhere over the centre console when we are both in it - her with her side set to 26C with the heated seats on full, me with mine set to 18C.
(What the hell is it with women? Even in the mad heatwave this summer she still has the heater on full and the heated seats on and will be in a zipped up puffer jacket. They aren't human.)
