Annoying niggles on your car
Discussion
Not so much design features, but little things that are broken that are enough to set off the OCD. More points if the problem is relatively small, but would require a labour intensive fix.
For me, the trip reset button has just broken on my E34 5 series. Not a major thing, but annoying enough to annoy me. And a devilish enough fix! Thankfully odometer and trip still work, I just cant reset it!

Passenger mirror on the 997 tilts down when you put it in to reverse, but sometimes get stuck like it and won't move in any direction. Randomly fixes itself after a terrifying day or two of not being able to see Landcruisers that are undertaking me at Mach 2. I'd take it to the OPC here, but I expect they will tell me it's an engine out job to fix it...

Jag X Type estate - the radio cuts out randomly. Some days it will be fine for hours on end, some days it will cut out for 10 seconds every minute or so!!! Incredibably annoying and sounds like a PITA to find and fix. Also the window auto detects a non existent hand in the way sometimes when closing and opens up again!
The TVR is absolutely fine though!!

MG ZS. Main niggle is knowing it's a Rover 45 underneath all the mesh. Other than that the spoiler keeps filling up with water, every time I open the boot it starts leaking rancid smelling water, I can't see how it's getting in there and because I bought the uber rare sunspot coloured one it's not like I can just buy another spoiler of ebay in the right colour or find a body shop who won't tell me he has to paint the whole car for it to look right...
Should have bought a 2011 Honda Jazz.

2011 Jazz. Everything works perfectly. I checked the oil today and since I bought it on Feb the first it has used a single drop.
What does this have to do with the thread? Man buys bland Honda and it doesn't use any oil, shocker. Out Octavia's nearside rear door lock is broken. It looks a right arse to get at to fix.

When the engine is cold, the ECU really doesn't know what it's doing. Starting the engine can sometimes take a couple of attempts, and is rarely a smooth start and smooth idling. Then once on the to at low speed in low ish revs, it sort of jumps about, "bunny hopping". Really embarrassing.
Second niggle is a constant pull to the left, tyres are fine and pressures are fine, not much of a pull but just enough to require a smidgen of pressure on the right hand side to keep it straight. Camber makes it even worse.
Last niggle is the delay between electrically folding the mirrors out and then being able to electrically adjust them. I have to wait about 10 seconds before the computer will allow me to adjust the mirror glass... Why?!
Oh and another thing, the handbrake cables are slightly uneven on each rear pad, so it applies one side more than the other. End result, despite maximum force on the handbrake lever, on some inclines it will still roll, despite adjustment.

Hahaha! Should have bought a 2011 Honda Jazz.
Bmw 5 series, it won't let me drive with the door open... Sounds sensible but when you lining up very close to the curb it can be useful to peek out as you creep back! I still surprise myself at how often this little "feature" irritates me.
The main I drive screen doesn't seem to auto dim, I'm sure something has failed preventing this though...
