The driver is involved in an angry dispute with Birmingham City Council and has vowed to stay put 'all day' in his Vauxhall Tigra despite it being towed onto a lorry

They should just smash a window and drag him out. Fair enough if he was parked legally but he was a fkwit.

I hope he gets taken to court and ends up paying the full cost to the tax payer of his idiocy.

Unfortunately being a fkwit is not illegal.

I hope they find something else to arrest him for though.

They should just tow the car away with him still in it. He can't do much about it if the car's strapped to the truck securely can he?

I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed to.

Then just lock the lorry and all bugger of to the pub, he'll feel a bit silly on his own

From the link above;
"NEWS: Our stand-off reporter Matt says: "Passer by just asked police: 'Can you go around the corner and we can drag him out?'
"The police decline."

Oh FFS it's parking in a disabled bay not child prostitution. He's a naughty man but this amount of kerfuffle beggars belief.

Hmmm. Can they chain the Tigra to the truck and leave it there for a few days? See if he's still in it when they come back.

I'd buy him a nice hot mug of green tea* to keep him warm and hydrated.

Since it's Christmas, they have to think about elf and safety.

Man parks in a disabled bay without a disabled badge, then says "I know I'm right in what I'm doing...."

Dont hold your breath for the popular support mate

Surely publishing on social media the name and photo of man being seen driving a Tigra in daylight is enough punishment for the heinous crime of disabled bay abuse? Leave him hanging there till Boxing Day as an example!

The kerfuffle is purely of his own making. If he hadn't kerfuffed, the car would have been towed away quickly and efficiently, allowing a disabled motorist to park in the designated bay.

The man is clearly a bit loopy and definitely in the wrong, but there's a point where the police have to apply common sense and let him keep the car.

If they're towing it for causing an obstruction, but he's there trying to take it, surely it makes sense to let him have the car and simply fine him as per the FPN?

I appreciate it's "letting him off" and it winds me up, but it's biting of your nose to spite your face to keep him there on principle.
