You mean the styling or this particular example?

The styling is of its time, and I personally think it looks great (slight bias, perhaps). We've got used to much more organic shapes in recent years, but 23 years ago when this car was first launched, it was a very contemporary and good-looking shape.

So I think "hideously bad" is rather damning and unfair.

Edit: I notice you don't list what car(s) you own. Ashamed of them? smile

What exactly are you talking about? That's a good looking car from all angles, perhaps I've misunderstood you?..

The Corrado's styling is certainly of the era but there are some great lines on it. I think they look just as good from all angles... Side and rear quarters.

Was driving along in fog and drizzle this morning and missing the rather brilliant 'set-your-own-intermittent-wiper-timing' feature !

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see that in the episode list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wheeler_Deal...

Nope, it's not. This is the only time they've done a Corrado. You thinking of 'Deals on Wheels' ?

Cracking episode.

I was half expecting cam chains an tensioners, hesdgasket an clutch which is likely to be enough for Edd to never want to work on a Vr6 again.

You wouldn't have got 5k off me for that example but I'm happy that this may be a catalyst to increase values.

The Corrado is Very much a 944 competitor an no there wasn't a huge price difference between for example a vr6 an S2 or a G60 against the 8v 944 models.

If you ignore the driven wheels the cars are so similar

I remember CAR magazine having them head to head in a Giant Test back in 1989. Not to mention the Autocar twin tests

Gone but not forgotten - we were together from 1996 to 2011.

I can only find the Corrado g60 vs Audi 80 coupe and 944 2.7 group test
http://www.flickriver.com/photos/triggerscarstuff/...

Classic Car also did a 944S vs Corrado test

Classic Cars was the VR6 vs 944s one wasn't it? A sort of modern classics article about 7 or 8 years back?

Yeah, not much in it, I suppose thinking back the Corrado was quite upmarket, not quite like a Boxster vs Scirroco now

I had a go in one of these about 16 years ago. It was damaged and repaired, and up for sale. I remember most the comically long-throw gear lever, it was like rowing a boat.

Yes, it was early 2007.

This article is also quite useful http://www.hemmings.com/hsx/stories/2013/09/01/hmn...

Ah yes, knew it was Mike Brewer.

Was deals on wheels just buying low and selling high then, rather than the more hands on restoration of wheeler dealers?
