These weren't that good to drive, though. Never could figure out why the magazines got so excited by them. Someone must have been paying them.
Back in the late 90s I had to deliver a VR6 about 15 miles away and return with a Peugeot 405 Estate. Up until this point I had driven Mk 2 Golfs, some Audi estates and another few boring cars. I was insanely excited.
Guess which car, the VR6 or the 405, I still remember vividly today. For the moment I first entered a corner. From the steering feel to the turn-in and throttle adjustability. Brilliant.
As a sort of pleasant, different, fast cruiser though the VR6 is still very special to me. I'd still like to try one a bit more.
