Fair enough. I'm just going to vague memories of reading about gearbox (or possibly clutch?) issues on SELOC but I might be getting confused with something else.
There's a chap on there who had an issue with his first one (clutch) but it seemed to be an isolated incident and he's just swapped it for another one.daytona365 said:
For this type of price, one could buy the very, very best example of a classic BMW E30.
And then what, keep in its heated garage most the year round to preserve its value? I suspect if one would try to use it the same as most Exige V6 owners intend, it'll quickly become far from the very best example.Lord knows I've wondered if I would be better off buying a decent E30 or similar, but in 2015, they're purchases meant for very different purposes (in my opinion)

You could buy an absolutely immaculate 2CV for that money.
.....Exactly. Glad someone gets my point. But then again, a 2CV while it has it's own peculiar charm, cannot be compared to an E30, which was probably in the top half dozen of sporting machines ever built...In my opinion of course. Edited by daytona365 on Monday 12th January 20:02
David's car did look stunning amongst the rest of the cars at our January 'Sunday Breakfast' meet last weekend. We were over near the Wallace Monument at Stirling. See what I did there?
So, a little bit of Lotus car porn if anyone is interested -

But think of how many Creme Eggs you could buy with that money.exceed said:
Much prefer these newer Lotus's, although purists hate the grown up persona it's exactly why this is now a tempting car to people like me.
Would you care to expand on that? I'm not being confrontational, but I'm interested in the brand perception. I'd fervently defend my purist credentials, but I love all the recent stuff too.Am I just an outlier?

I do love this car, the Cup version in particular - a bargain by all accounts IMO. Stunning chassis and as a road car with a heavy track bias, is there anything that comes remotely close for the money?
For me, far more desirable than any 991, GT3 included.

nice car but lets not forget it's £63,000
You can spend that on a NON-S Cayman with the right options....and the Exige V6's fly. Cayman starts from £40k and you can be in the S model for £50k.
The GT4 does however sound interesting but I will wait to see the initial reviews.
