Reminds me of the Disco Volante in Thunderball. Like a Pantera is trying to escape from its bigger coccooned back end. Quite stunning cloud9

A little disappointed that they didn't put the flat plane 5.2L V8 in it. That would have been an even more awesome car!
Even the engineers at Ford might have preferred, for personal reasons, the flat-plane V8.

But the use of a highly-tuned and, presumably, reliable EcoBoost V6 will help Ford to showcase its engineering prowess, provide a halo for the wider Ford range, etc., etc.

I think this is one of the best looking cars ever made, and I'm glad that Ford is making another GT. Some people will be disappointed that it's not a V8, but I think they will make sure that it burbles like a six cylinder turbo can, and it's not a hybrid. It's really beautiful, yet aggressive, with obvious design inspiration taken from the original car. It's a new dream car for car enthusiasts and fans around the world. smile

Makes a nice change, no vague, arty video, no 'blue sheep moments' nonsense, no 'feasibility study' smoke and mirrors. Just a car, on a stage, almost out of nowhere.

Thank you, Ford marketing dept.

In that dream world where I won the lottery I would have one to park next to the One-77. For going shopping at Tesco, you understand. I wonder what deal Ford would do me with my 09 Focus Zetec as a P/Ex?

I like that is isn't a retro pastiche. I am not hugely into super/hyper cars, but there are some nice touches that make this look very appealing to me.

Glad to see it is virtually build-ready and a straight up production car, not a vague pointer to future saloon/hatch styling.

''I like that is isn't a retro pastiche''...While it's in no way a pastiche, it does definitely show many retro design features.

Hmmm... No. Nope, I don't like that. It's close, but that somehow makes it worse. The wings flowing off the rear arches to the roof look _awful_ and a blown 6 is just... wrong. I'm sure it will be excellent, but it's not pressing any of the buttons the last one did.

It's stunning and also amazing that they managed to keep it so secret until today. No big rumours or grubby mules spotted going around the 'ring that I can remember.

Revealing it like this out of the blue is a marketing blinder and it will probably help brand perception in future too!

In my eyes it's better looking than any Ferrari, Porsche or Lamborghini on sale today. Highly subjective matter of course. Well done Ford.

Edit: apart from the 918.

Absolutely stunning.

If I had one gripe (and I'm really being picky here), the rear overhang looks a tiny bit too long (to my eyes).

If the Noble M600 looked like this they might have sold more than 17 by now!
Have they really only sold 17?

fk me, I'm desperate for one!
I'm only quoting what I read on the M600 Speedster thread from a couple of days ago, but I find it believable. I was just thinking how much more distinctive this is, even if it's not what you'd call conventionally pretty.
Wow. That's poor, I knew it wouldn't have sold well but would have at least guessed it would be 3 figures....

Its far from an ugly car, the design is lovely - if a little safe.

I like

Looks like it's lost the highly agreeable ground clearance of the last one (I guess in the pursuit of downforce and (for me) near pointless lap times)

Is it a homage to the GT40 or the Miura?
Agreed. I thought Miura when I saw the yellow one. I like the car, but not the name. The GT looked like the GT40. I am not sure this does. Also calling it the GT waters down the actual GT and link to GT40 as this car doesn't say either to me. It's great for Ford to do it, but raking over heritage is getting boring and lazy. Just give it a different name and refer to the GT40 and GT back catalogue.

Call it Le Mans, or after a feature of the circuit by all means. 'Ford G Tours'?

Sorry, just remembered wasn't there a Pontiac Le Mans?

'GTV' or 'GT V' where the V denotes 5 decades since the success at Le Mans?
