Anyone know the chances of the UK getting any of these officially imported? Would make for interesting comparison with the likes of the M4 and C63 AMG's!
Well they're making a full UK spec RHD version of the standard V8 Mustang. I can't imagine it would be much work to also offer the more potent versions. kambites said:

Here's hoping the big wigs at Ford do the right thing. I think this car really has a good chance of being a commercial success, especially as the price for petrol is at an all time low (and falling). kambites said:

As I said a few posts up (it has been mentioned on the Mustang Owners Club) the GT350 model (and I assume that means versions of the GT350 too) is for the US market only from what has been heard. But as I have said many many times before LHD in the UK is not a problem at all. Unless the past 5 1/2 years and 51,000 miles I have done in mine been wrong some how.
But with this GT350R having a lot of unique features (such as the flat-plane crank V8) could you get is serviced at a local dealer? rb26 said:

I don't get mine serviced at a dealer so its not an issue. If past Mustangs have been anything to go by the engine should survive on oil & Filter changes for 100,000 miles (aside from the odd air and fuel filter) - if it doesn't then I will be disappointed. You can do those on the driveway skyrover said:
Anyone else think the car has a certain "Britishness" to it's design?
I believe one of the main designers of the s550 mustang is British. I was being sarcastic about the IRS, the s550 mustang i.e. 2015 has IRS. Typically in ever other mustang post someone complains about the solid rear axle. The new edge cobras also had irs.
The later s197 mustangs 10-14, ford really did magic on the solid rear axle as they handle great. The weak point on the s197's were soft springs.

At least when I lived in the USA I found myself more drawn to the Ford's despite most of the people I worked with hating them, preferring Chevrolet or Dodge.

Sadly just like the GT350 it is based on (ford confirmed that would be US Domestic market only) it won't be sold officially over here you'd have to import one.
Personally I'd rather the money spent on the performance than soft touch materials. The interior in the new mustang is perfrectly fine.Ignore him, there is always one. Looks a damn sight more interesting than any premium brand European car I have seen of late.

looks stunning from the outside but that interior...looks like st. Did they pull it from some pickup truck?
Have you seen how cheap these are you muppet?Personally I'd rather the money spent on the performance than soft touch materials. The interior in the new mustang is perfrectly fine.
the interior IMHO looks basic and cheap in comparison to any European premium brand car.

Also since when has Ford been premium? Theres a reason why the Focus ST cost 22k and the Golf R 30k. They aren't.

The problem I find with most European cars is the quality is measured on how soft the plastics are rather than what you get for the money or whether or not it is a dull grey slab. Consider that you have to spend twice as much on a European car to get the same performance as even the GT offers let alone the GT350.the interior IMHO looks basic and cheap in comparison to any European premium brand car.

pls send it over here as a halo car.. I mean make a RHD version.......
this is just so right................. I'd buy one
right someone tell me how heavy it is.....
The starting kerb weight (before options) of the stock manual GT is ~3704lbs (1680kg), so comparable with most of the offerings in its performance class.this is just so right................. I'd buy one

That's right, 10-speed. Ford's switch to aluminum bodywork for the F-150 also means that its no less than 227kg lighter than the old model, which has to be about the biggest model-to-model weight reduction ever recorded
Didn't the new RR Sport save something like 400kg from the old model?dukebox9reg said:
Yeah and you pay 20-30k or more for the privilege of the squidgy interior to go with the performance. Look how much an RS5 costs....FROM £60k... the Mustang V8 £35k.

If I may just wade in.. the Focus RS will rival the Golf R, the ST is a GTI rival which is much closer on price. Also since when has Ford been premium? Theres a reason why the Focus ST cost 22k and the Golf R 30k. They aren't.

Depends on the person. I owned a LHD car in the UK for a while and absolutely hated it. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
