It mentions the Taiga forest in the article. Bentley Taiga. That would have been a much better name.

Why didn't they just call it Bentley Marbella?
Unless the word means something else in Chinese (like big privates), then it will sell like hot cakes.

Seems to me that the main criteria was to select a name that did not sound Western European, to emphasise the point that it's not for us.

They should have taken the nameplate from Grand Theft Auto: Huntley S.

What a dreadful name for a vehicle. Still reads as "Bentgaya" to me.

Oh dear, someone's dropped the ball at Bentley!

All sorts of permutations with this one.

Bent over - That'll be the first service then.
Bent Gaya - Top Gear will have to go back and do the American deep south trip again.
Bent Guy - Best selling car in a certain south coast city.
Bent Tiger - Great for Chinese medicine.

Anyway enough of that, where's the class gone Bentley? Arnage, Mulsanne etc all evocative oily names....!

Ah I know where they have gone, the middle east and the far east.....

Why were they so desperate to shoehorn the brand name into the model description? It's as stupid as the Toyota ToyPra, the Ford FordStang or the Ferrari TheFerrari would be.

"So what do you drive mate?"

"Oh, er... it's... the Bentley SUV, you know... the SUV one"

"Oh I dunno, what's it called?"

"It's, ehm... it's the Bentayga"

"Oh..."

2 minutes of thinking: Bentley X-Continental, Bentley Sherwood, Bentley Spur (or X-Spur), Bentley Crewe, Bentley Mulsand, I can keep going. I understand that these agencies charge millions for coming up with names (Mondeo was quite expensive for Ford).

But Bentayga... more for a Tamiya model. Come on Bentley!
