Well, if you view it as a £5k car now, then adding £10k would make it a £15k car... £15k for a well-sorted, tidy Cayman? Sounds like a good deal to me.

They're plasticky and noisy inside and okay outside. Engine is gutsy but earlier ones don't enjoy being redlined really. They are heavy but the steering is not bad. The brakes are good. The chassis is incredibly benign. They are cheap to run and entertaining and go round a track well enough.

In other news, the old banger survived 600 miles participating in the MSA Spring Classic driving tour over the weekend. And jolly good fun it was too. drivingsmile

More pictures here.

I managed to cope with three different navigators over the weekend, and they in turn all survived my driving. hehe

Pretty sure I saw you filling up in Newport?

I did take a photograph but won't post for fear of being branded a stalker.

New one is awkward looking: rear lights too close together, front lights too slitty/ pointy, too slabby over wheels. It does look ok from some angles in some colours but IMO the gen 3 (outgoing but pre facelift / mouth job) I think is the pick.

This would be on my shortlist;

Evo 2014 -
"Tuning firm BBR’s latest Mazda MX-5 offering, the BBR GT270 Turbo. It has a faintly ridiculous 268bhp at 7350rpm (up 110bhp on standard) and a killer 227lb ft at 5100rpm (up 88lb ft)"

On the Z4/M3 front, as good as the M3 no doubt is, if you're after something that feels like a sports car all the time then surely an M3 is just going to feel like a regular 3 series when you're not nailing it. That's no doubt often seen as a strength but maybe not ideal for moose's scenario.
