What I like about these is that if you can't see evidence of terminal rust everywhere, you can be 100% confident you have bought one of the rarer examples that is riddled with terminal rust you can't see. anonymous said:

Great pic.Sensing from your posts that the Cayman isn't quite the leap up in progress and owner enjoyment that it promises to be on paper, and ought to be given the difference in entry price. Is that unfair?
Suppose it pays testament to how good the original Boxster is if so.

Always a reason for the sale, either onwards and upwards, the need for change or circumstantial.
It wasn't practical as a daily any more and I couldn't justify the cost to get it up to scratch as a weekend toy, plus I was all set on an SL.
Still, it's a bit of a wrench letting them go.
Now the SL idea is out I'm trying to think of what I can get that will make me feel like this again.
What BHP is that M3 making!? Is it a modified 2.3? Love the sound, the way it goes... what a car.It wasn't practical as a daily any more and I couldn't justify the cost to get it up to scratch as a weekend toy, plus I was all set on an SL.

I think you need a second car, cmoose, to put the croc's virtues into perspective.Either the much mused-upon R129, or something sufficiently opposed (i.e., slow) to make the Porsche as appealing as it logically ought to be. This £1600 timewarp Micra ought to do it:
Failing that, I'm sure Alfa will eventually get round to selling you a 6C. Can't imagine such a thing isn't in the pipeline, given the relative loveliness of the 8C and (fixed DRL) 4C, Maserati having all those Pentastar V6s kicking about the place, and the sodding great lumps of heritage dripping off the name...

It needs to not be on those wheels, too.
I quite like them. That Micra "Chic' is proof that some cars are grim straight from the factory.

Sublime.

No idea without further internetting. However here is an article with Chris Harris. I haven't watched the vid but it may be that the details are revealed.
Watching the rally vid does really make me miss my old 2.3.
I'm wondering what will most likely provide similar thrills for a similar (at the time) entry fee. S2000? 190 Cosworth?

Tweaked 2.3 as per Group A rules, no more than around 275bhp. Down on power compared to a Group A Cossie (limited in rallying to 300hp) but just as quick on stage times thanks to nimble handling and throttle response.Snyers could drive a bit too.
This sounds the part- http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/h...
Would having a Trophy and an Integra at the same time be a bit pointless?
