Rejn,

You just bought one of the cars I've always wanted for a long time. Hearty congratulations. Oceans of jealousy.

Well after what feels like months of anticipation, the wait is over...

I picked up the Integrale this morning. And I can confirm it is awesome. 50 miles of back roads of Northern Ireland confirmed: it's a but scruffy and a few bits of peripheral Italian electrics arent quite doing what their maker intended; but the driving experience is incredible. Gear change is a bit clunky (not helped be a squeaky clutch pedal!) but when it's hooked up, it is perfect! Steering feel amazing; turbo spools up nicely; it feels very planted. Considering this cars age and missing history, it's amazing that's it's so chuck able... It's put a huge smile on my face!!!

Good luck - they look lovely and if you get a good one you'll enjoy it

Chaps,, father is looking to replace his Fabia VRS.

Current favourite is a Fiesta ST Mountune. Not something I know about - any good?

Reviews all seem favourable, and 212hp in a Fiesta does sound like a giggle.
The Fiesta is ordered, will be picked up in 2 weeks.

So, the VRS, it's an 07, 1 owner, resale silver, 85k. Can someone give me an idea of the private sale price?

Autotrader asking prices suggest it would need to be pitched no higher than £4k to look tempting at that mileage.

Thanks Loon. Your wise words a few months ago put the idea in my mind...

I've been out again this morning and I can confirm its still as good. The steering feel is amazing - proper old school communicative (it reminds me of my old Elise - in a good way). I'm loving the way you have to work to keep the engine on boil - a lapse means the turbo spools down and that means a few seconds of low power waiting for it to get going again.

Awesome car. bounce

Brilliant.

Can't tell if it's a 2.3/2.5-16 but definitely worth saving if so.

My 944t was like and I found it irritating. But it was a lazy revving engine. What's the lancia like in that respect?
Interesting...

Below 2k revs there's nothing. From 2-3500 theres a surge of torque; the turbo starts to kick in from there. From 3500-5500 it's great - the car just wants to rev. I haven't pushed it into the top of the Rev range as the car needs a good service. The way it feels at the moment though, there isn't much of a top end. It looks like it's red-lined at 6500.

Mine''s an early 8v car and I think the later cars might have a more eager top end.

Interestingly though, the car likes to go fast. I've been bombing around the back roads thinking the speedo is wrongly calibrated - or I did even wonder if somebody had just put a mph face on a kph speedo. This afternoon though I got to drive through some towns and it seems it's perfectly calibrated. So the old girl likes 1.1 leptons along the back roads. Amazing. The brakes aren't fully up to the job though. Maybe I'm just used to modern car brakes or maybe they need sorting...

Around what I was thinking. Have tried it in the classifieds here around that.
