Had a tour of the McLaren Technical Centre and McLaren Production Centre yesterday: very, very impressive and mighty interesting. Oh, and also got to see the new 570S which looks stunning.

Being shown round by Bruce's daughter was the icing on the cake.

Not really motor related, but we p/x'd our sleep for one of these a couple of weeks ago.



Also got one of these for baby duty (library pic - a 1.6 not a GTI), swapping my Wife's favoured Ka. Our first VW, and quite happy with it. 2005, 35K, genuine one lady owner and clean as a clean thing. If we get on with it, I could imagine a Mk6/7 GTI somewhere down the line.

The car is now on t'drive.

Price paid: £750.

Needs a tickle here and there. 191k with Merc dealer history to 180k, MOT to mid August, half a tank of 99RON.

Reckon I'll chuck a quick £200 at it and then smoke around like Princess Diana's secret boyfriend.

They are brilliant cars. Apart from one rusty wing, mine is nigh-on perfect at 212,000 miles. I love driving it.
